New Year's?[]

How can it be released in january and include new-years eve props? Which one of them is most likely to happen? 145.93.89.6 10:13, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Simple: the New Year's Eve fireworks wouldn't be seen until next New Year's. But if that's planned, they'd probably have them in a weekly build out some time before New Year's Eve this year. --timrem 11:48, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

But first they stated after Christmas, so it may be added to this New Years Eve. metarmaskHi! I'm metarmask! 15:52, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Crossbows?[]

  • This was uncited and I couldn't find anything anywhere to back it up, so I'm removing it until somebody finds citation.

Troagador 19:54, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

  • I added that, im 100% sure Jens and Nathan said something about crossbows while they were answering questions.
  • Watch this video at 17:44, they mention something about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YG9RNyRhIow

Here's a post that explain most of the things they said at Future Updates with the Minecraft PC Team at Minecon[1] "not planned" metarmaskHi! I'm metarmask! 15:51, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

  • I read the page you linked to, point five under the 'Discussion and Q&A Session' section reads: 'Discussion of ideas for Spear (longer reach) and Crossbow (rapid fire) - but not planned.' It looks like there are some ideas being thrown around, but nothing officially planned for the Redstone Update.

"Erring Miner"[]

I will be removing that from the page since it is a target for speculation, and a revert war is going on. If you want to put it back, please review this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YG9RNyRhIow and post here what time in the video they mention it. That channel also hosts several recordings of MineCon, so feel free to find where "Erring Miner" is mentioned. "Erring Miner" will NOT go back up onto the page without a reference to prove it has been mentioned. --Kanegasi C 13:40, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

1.5 Snapshot?[]

Does any one know when the 1.5 snapshots are coming? I really want to try them out. 99.129.135.211 19:51, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

I don't know, but some of the features are BUDs and capacittors, which output power if they receive a specific strength of signal. I think they should also add a feature that can control the stren th of a redstone signal. Preceding unsigned comment was made by 72.83.187.63.Please sign your posts with ~

Redstone and coal blocks?[]

Coal and redstone are the most common materials from underground (except stone) and they can't be crafted into blocks. Most of Minecraft players want redstone and coal blocks in Minecraft. Woudn't it be better if there will be redstone and coal blocks?--Pan jouda 14:35, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

This is no forum for ideas. 74.73.15.166 21:49, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Discovered look?[]

When are these planned features have a physical look? Zigzagar 04:58, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

When they come out in a development release or someone from Mojang posts a picture. If you're talking about the pretty render main pictures or icons, the people that normally do those will get them eventually. 13w01a was just released today. --Kanegasi C 00:18, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Broken links[]

There are broken links to this page in the page on comparator, block of Redstone, and maybe some other pages. Can someone who knows how to fix this please do? --96.237.54.85 22:54, 4 January 2013 (UTC) Edit: fixed. Thanks whoever did it. --198.228.200.146 23:02, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

"TNT minecarts" under "new ways of transporting items" should link to the page on TNT minecarts. --72.14.84.10 01:51, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Minecart with TNT explosion size depends on minecart speed?[]

The statement made on this page conflicts with one at http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Minecart_with_TNT. I don't know which one is right..

/testfor command[]

The previous section on this was a jumbled mess. I rewrote it, but I'm not the most knowledgeable person on the subject. It still should give more info than "you use it in a command block." --Droideka30 22:09, 25 January 2013 (UTC) There were no objections, so I rewrote it. Also, it should not be under "blocks and items". -Droideka30 03:18, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

command blocks suggestion[]

Just a suggestion for command blocks, add variables so multiple command blocks use the same information (currently, you cant pass info between command blocks)

Snow heights reverted[]

Download 13w05b he scrapped the snow heightswe saw in 13w05a now stop adding it back. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 174.252.158.154 (talk) at 13:23, 5 February 2013‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

I'm on 13w05b. Snow sheets are still craftable from snow blocks, can still be stacked on top of each other, and still raise your height by 0.125 blocks per sheet (minus 1 sheet) -- in both Survival and Creative mode.
Munin295 · Book and Quill Stone Pickaxe · 18:19, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

Actually play 13w05b and it is not there. The craftable sheets are still there but the stacking of layers IS NOT! And he tweeted that he did in fact scrap it 68.63.247.237 22:27, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

Well mine won't work then68.63.247.237 22:34, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

If you're talking about this tweet, Dinnerbone talked about automatic snow levels. I think he was responding to BDoubleO100's video, where BDub suggested that snow layers should increase with each snowfall, and saying that that caused too much lag. But the mechanic that allows players to increase the level of snow sheets by right-clicking on them with a snow sheet in their inventory is definitely still there (I just did it in 13w05b) -- and since that's what the article talks about, it shouldn't be removed.
Please use indenting on your talk page posts.
Munin295 · Book and Quill Stone Pickaxe · 23:37, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
I think I know his problem, I think Too Many Items for 13w05a/b conflicts with the snow layer heights since the Mod maker added the different heights as blocks that use to be in the game not fully implemented. I tested it using Too Many Items and it doesn't work. Someone needs to notify the mod maker since he's conflicting with vanilla 96.4.99.1 13:36, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

No minecart with spawner or dispenser[]

Dinnerbone tweeted that picture to show that he has added a feature that allows people to use NBT EDIT to put anything In a minecart.

He is not adding these to vanilla and it should be taken off of this page.68.63.247.237 22:33, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

Has Dinnerbone made a statement about the image? Otherwise, I think it's sufficient to justify "possibly". —Munin295 · Book and Quill Stone Pickaxe · 09:05, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
Dinnerbone tweeted that he made it possible with NBT edit to put anything in a Minecart around the time he posted that picture. I don't know where it is but I remember seeing it. You're speculating that it will be added. Shouldn't you NOT have speculated things on here? Why not add Sharks with lazers on here because he said maybe? I'd say wait because we might (don't hold me to it) See a 1.5 Pre-realease instead of 13w07a. I think 13w06a will do a few more bug fixes and then that's it. No new features. 96.4.99.1 13:42, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
A spawner isn't your average block. Notice how all the other minecarts have special blocks that have to be individually implemented? Furnaces, chests, dispensers, hoppers, TNT and spawners would all do nothing if it were just a standard block. ultradude25Talk

If he tweeted an image of sharks with lasers, we would definitely include that as a possible future feature. We'd be crazy not to. : )
You're inferring that a contemporary tweet constitutes denial, and from how you've described it, I'm unconvinced. We have an image from a Mojang employee of a possible future feature (along with a tweet that possibly explains how it is accomplished), like lots of other images we use to substantiate future features, and that justifies "possibly" (i.e., keeping it in).
While we usually try to keep speculation out of articles about the current published version of Minecraft, this entire article started as speculation (substantiated by videos, images, tweets, etc.). As we get snapshots, these speculations change to statements about what is actually in the snapshots, but those are still speculations that what we see in the snapshots will be in the update (which frequently turns out not to be the case). So speculation on this page is okay as long as it's reasonably substantiated, and an image from a Mojang employee is enough for now.
Try tweeting Dinnerbone and asking him about it. Maybe you'll get a definite answer.
Munin295 · Book and Quill Stone Pickaxe · 17:08, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
The dispenser is fake, made with the NBT tag. The spawner is real and working.

wheat Block[]

some people on reddit found an unnamed block when looking in the files for the pinball mojam game. Should we add this? Link to reddit thread [2] Link to pictures [3] Onewa64 22:03, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

An article has already been added as hay bales, but there's nothing (yet) indicating that it will actually be part of the Redstone Update, so it shouldn't go on this page.

No new engine[]

If I understand this tweet correctly, the rewritten lighting engine will NOT be included in 1.5: https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/305480948613533696 Worldofminecraft 01:44, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

Better Inventory Management Unfounded[]

The features for moving whole stacks of items both from the crafting area to inventory and from container to container is not present in any current snapshots and I find no mention of it in any update notes.[4] Is this a bug that prevents it from working properly or was this never a confirmed feature to begin with?

Deleted/ Restored information[]

Goandgoo had deleted all of the information about the features of the Redstone update. I see no reason to delete all the helpful information on this page, which was much more informative than the version history page. Droideka30 22:16, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

I should have made this clearer. After the update is released, all the changelog information is moved to the main Version History page, so 2 different copies are not edited at the same time. See Pretty Scary Update to see how it was done, and how it should remain in the future. GoandgooTalk

Excessive Videos[]

I believe there's a bit too many youtube videos embedded into the page and makes it look like nonsense and ultimately just a page to "spotlight" them. Since this is a wiki, I believe that the page should contain more consistent information than showcasing what the community has done with the update. -Extreme 02:45, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
