Revision as of 23:59, 5 March 2015

This page is only for discussing the Planned versions page.
Below are some common links to help you before you post.

Tables

JayiPsionix

I personally think tables look worse, especially for the computer edition. In most cases it simply moves the header from the top to the side, then places it in a hard to see location (centered even on a long table), causing the article to lose readability. Also, if you are going to remove linked to headers, add an {{anchor}} or a {{text anchor}} to replace it. KnightMiner (t|c) 17:25, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

Agreed; over the last year we've been moving away from using tables for version history and upcoming features pages. We can discuss other ways to improve the appearance of pages, but this isn't a good use for tables. -- Orthotopetalk 19:27, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

Cite notes

Cite notes 7 and 8 are the same, and I can't edit the page. Can someone make it to make them the same?

Thanks, HeroBrineNZK (talk) 06:56, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

Done. The page was protected so that only "autoconfirmed" users can edit it, due to it being a high traffic page and/or excessive vandalism. --Naista2002Grid Book and Quill Grid Iron Pickaxe 08:54, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
Okay, cool, thanks. HeroBrineNZK (talk) 04:37, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

Pocket edition 0.1x.0

I do not know if this is true, but if it is, it should be in the planned versions page (I do not know how you would edit the page, though). In 0.1x.0, these features may be added:

  • weather
    • originally planned for 0.10.0, but got delayed
  • the nether
    • potions
      • in 0.11.0, the jump boost effect will be added. If potion of leaping is implemented, there would also be rabbits or another way to get rabbit's foot.
    • Zombie pigmen in the nether will make gold renewable.
      • Assuming the new nether reactor (see below) does not consume the nether reactor core, everything the new nether reactor gives will also be renewable.
    • The nether reactor will do something entirely different.
      • The new nether reactor will be some kind of "super dungeon".
  • hardcore mode
    • delayed from 0.10.0
  • Version exclusive:far biome
    • will only appear in old worlds
    • delayed from 0.9.0
  • new layout for the controls
    • the jump button will be on the right
    • The player will be able to sneak (may be added in a later update)
    • The player will be able to sprint (may be added in a later update)
      • Hunger will be added with sprinting.

Unless these are confirmed by someone working at Mojang, they should not be added to the page. -- Orthotopetalk 01:39, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
Mojang also said that Redstone will be added BEFORE beta. MobileCrafter (talk) 08:10, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Do you have a source? We cannot just take your word for it. KnightMiner (t·c) 17:51, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
According to one of the references in Pocket Edition mentioned features, redstone will be added in beta 1.0.0. Another reference says that 0.11.0 will be the last major update in alpha. The only confirmed blocks are blocks of redstone and dispensers, everything else is only a maybe. Another reference says that new in beta 1.0.0, there will be easy difficulty, hard difficulty, or both. 71.35.109.25 02:38, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
In this case, I would say it belongs on Pocket Edition mentioned features, as none of the sources state a specific version (except the 1.0.0 release, which is not enough of a source for a full version). KnightMiner (t·c) 15:26, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
I found that in-game music will also be added in 1.0.0. Also, I do not get why the 1.0.0 release is not enough for a full version. Finally, it turns out that 0.1x.0 refers to the future in general, so one could use

Ocelots for PE?

I found this reference: https://twitter.com/MCPE_News/status/565343595763625984 Does this really mean Ocelots will be added in 0.11.0? --File:Cats.gif MrPoshLynx (talk) The Chickens have escaped 19:52, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

MCPE_News isn't considered a reliable source. See Help:Official sources for a list of reliable sources to use. BDJP007301 (t|c) 20:05, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Split 0.11.0 into new article?

I think we should split the content regarding 0.11.0 into a new article before it gets too big, don't you think? BDJP007301 (t|c) 18:56, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

I would support the split, though the main reason it has not been split is that the other PE versions have not been given their own pages yet. As such, we may want to start a discussion proposing the pages start being split to their own articles in the community portal, as there is not a consensus to split other editions of Minecraft yet. KnightMiner (t·c) 19:06, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
I started a discussion here. Feel free to add on to it. BDJP007301 (t|c) 19:18, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Paddle not held

In the 2nd reference for paddles, the image includes a boat with a padde, but the player riding it is holding a bow. This means that paddles do not have to be held. Please add this information ASAP.71.35.109.25 21:07, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
I forgot to say that I cannot edit the page, as it is protected.71.35.109.25 00:19, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

 Done I added a note. KnightMiner (t·c) 00:30, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

Finished features

I think there should be a message that says "Finished Feature" in green. It would be used for features that have been made, but not released. 67.160.25.176 22:53, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Any such message would be speculation, as we have no idea which features are complete, and even once released they still are likely incomplete. We could look at the tweets showing progress, but what about if no progress was posted on the other features, but they are still complete? KnightMiner t/c 23:13, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
