Loot[]

What is the loot you can get from jungle temples? It's ahme, AJC! 17:46, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

I've seen Emeralds, Bones, Rotten Flesh, and Iron Ingots so far. There's probably more though. Shine 17:52, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
Probably the same as a Pyramid --Dyon 17:53, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
The one I found had all of the above plus Diamond and Gold Ingots. YetAnotherGuy 18:06, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

I've found some good stuff like emeralds in temples, but it's mostly worthless stuff like bones, string and rotten meat. -AlaskanKid

The word "Temple"- Eh kills mobs and doesn't afraid of anyone.[]

THIS is a temple, it actually appears to be built around a realistic one, and has similar features and other assorted things compared to one (I thought of Indian temples when I saw the pic. Maybe Shiva or Muhgal?). Maybe Mojang should rename "Jungle temple" to just "Temple", and make "Desert temple" back to "Pyramid" or maybe "Ziggurat"? I don't know...this is the real temple, but I also see the names as (can't think of the right word here) repetitive? Unimaginative? Has Mojang even called this a "Jungle temple" yet, or has there not been much on it? (Knowing my luck, they'll name this "Pyramid"). I know, I must seem like an arrogant ass for talking about this still, but it just seems very...err, unimaginative (that word, it appears once more!) to call them BOTH "temple". Either way, the structure looks amazing so far, but definitely needs some added skin (Symbols, anyone?).--Gardevoirr 21:33, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Here's the thing... with the 'Temples' we now have a type of structure 'suffix' if you will, like Golem is now a mob 'suffix'. It's better to have the temples, as it shoes that there are sentient beings(Villagers, I know, but maybe they didn't build the temples) that made temples to protect their sacred items or to show that the Testies aren't Aetheist Squidward freaks. It's ahme, AJC! 18:06, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
The Desert temple doesn't even appear to be a temple though, and I see no correlation between Testificates and Temples. If there were a shrine in them, denoting a flying Thunderbird mob (Hey Jeb, just gave you an idea for a boss. Go make le Thunderbird!), then they would be Religious/Worship temples. The "Jungle temple" at the moment has the structure of a temple, and i'm comfortable calling it that, but the Pyramid does not. We could use the suffix "temples" (Or how about Shrines? idk, temples seems fine for a suffix), but rename both structures so they have a creative and more-accurate aspect, while keeping the group. If we're steering towards a religious/worship aspect like you mentioned for the Testificates, but change the Pyramid's main structure a little to denote this. Maybe add statue blocks? (Thunderbird! Creeperpillar (Caterpillar that goes boom)! Squidman!) That would definitely class it up. Same for the jungle temple (It's fucking ugly, no offense. Needs a re-skin and more detail like the Pyramid). I still think "Ziggurat" would work perfectly for the Desert temple/Pyramid. How about "sanctuary" for the Jungle temple? They could be grouped under "Temples", and have awesome Thunderbirdscats...Thunder...THUNDER...THUNDERCATS. Sorry, really hyper I guess.

Tl;dr:

>Rename Desert temple "Ziggurat" -Add statues of sand/desert related gods or mobs in general >Rename Jungle temple "Sanctuary" -Add statues of vine/jungle related gods or mobs in general >Group temples under "Temples" >Re-skin Sanctuary, so it doesn't look like something I made out of moss stone when I'm chronic as *

Sound good?

--Gardevoirr 19:36, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Wow. Really, that's fantastic. You should work for Mojang as 'Director of Ideas and Communication to the Public'. Statues would work brilliantly, and the Jungle Temple/ Sanctuary should have Stone Brick instead of Cobblestone and Moss Stone. Statues.... hmm... maybe of the Enderdragon? That would be cool. And Heiroglyphic Stone Brick as well, but with a different design from Chisled Sandstone. Myabe of Endermen and Testies?

And Testies should inhabit these Temples, and the Green Robe people could be monks, so the Purple Robed Priests should be like head monks in Temples and Preists in Villages. This isn't a forum, but these are good ideas. It's ahme, AJC! 19:54, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Sorry if I make my postings like a forum, used to it. Was that sarcasm though? I know I seem like an arse whenever I type a single word, but it's certainly hard to tell! Well, anyways, thanks for the compliments ;D Stone brick? I don't believe that could work very well, it would blend into the environment too easily, maybe if it was shaded a little darker, with the hieroglyphs etc. I think that the moss stones works, but vines and an insignia like the one on the Pyramid/Desert Temple/Ziggurat should be added, along with statues, so it isn't a disgusting-looking structure. I will get the newest snapshot later on and see the building for myself, I hope it isn't as damned ugly as it appears. Hopefully it's a huggable ugly though, not choppy and unimaginative like the structures in the XBA version.--Gardevoirr 20:45, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Merge?[]

I think we should merge desert and jungle temples into one article called "Temples" or something... Electrk 00:42, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Possibly. But then we would have more problems...we could group them instead, but I think just having them next to each other in the environment template should be fine. --Gardevoirr 03:19, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Traps?[]

The pic above in the page isn't very helpful. So, can anyone tell me how to steal the loot, without triggering or tampering with the Temple's traps or (*ahem) its original design? (you know, Indiana Jones style) Also, please don't say jump over them, or take the arrows. Only answer if you have played the Snapshot. Thanks!

Use shears to disarm traps. You cannot jump over them (first one is 2 block high) As for secret room use levers it following succession: Right, Left, Left, Right. — MiiNiPaaT|C 20:54, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Shoot. I didn't want to mess with them. oh well. If it means diamonds i don't really care. And thanks for the lever code.

Is it the same pattern of Mossy Stone in every Temples?[]

As the main page set the amount of Cobblestone and Mossy Stone that made a Temple, I was wondering if Cobblestone and Mossy Stone appear always in the same pattern in every Temple. Missingno 26 09:53, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Generation[]

Are these only generated in world newer than 12w22a? Can't find one in my 12w21b world, and I've looked in every jungle within 1000 blocks of my base... –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 0xDEADMEAT (Talk|Contribs) 20:53, 16 June 2012‎ (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Was your world generated with 12w21b and now you have running 12w22a or newer ? Then you should find a temple. If not -> Update to a more current snapshot.
If you're really desperately searching a temple, try AMIDST --Kumasasa 21:33, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
Also keep in mind that temples are only generated in chunks that are generated in the newer snapshot; they won't generate in already-generated chunks (should be obvious, but you never know). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:26, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Not sure where to put this[]

I didn't know if I should put a note on the page itself, but anyway,

When the page says that it randomly picks the loot from a list I though "What list?" "Can we see this list?". If anyone has a copy of the list I thought it would be a good thing to add.

Sorry if I'm wrong, I don't normally edit Wikis.

whizzer0 17:57, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

You're not wrong. This is exactly where you ask about stuff like this and I do agree that that list should be on this page. We'll need someone who knows how to find stuff like this in the code though. --Moxxy 18:58, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Indiana Jones![]

Now we can play Indiana Jones in Minecraft! Yippie!

Chest Exploded?[]

So, I was playing single player in my new world when I find a jungle temple. So I went inside and avoided all the traps and got to where the chest usually is. I find a small crater and bits of bone, rotten flesh, and gold scattered about. Did the chest explode? Could it have been a creeper or Herobrine? (I don't believe in Herobrine by the way) This is weird! -AlaskanKid

Do you have any mods on your version of Minecraft? If no then it must have been a creeper that got into a argument with something -- maybe a skeleton. 71.7.249.252 16:38, 27 April 2013 (UTC)

Blueprints?[]

So this is kind of off topic but has anyone thought of making a tutorial of how to build this thing? Like, I know someone made blueprints for an NPC village and that was really helpful. If someone could get blueprints, that would be really nice. Just an idea. 72.77.38.64 01:54, 7 May 2013 (UTC)LordVile42

Composed of[]

i saw in the trivia section what the jungle temples are composed of but it was not complete so i went and collected the cobble and moss stone from a jungle temple and was wandering is it the same as the values i got 468 cobblestone, 683 moss stone. Please can someone double check and finally confirm the amount of cobble stone and moss stone which composes of a jungle temple. 86.153.11.124 12:46, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

Temple or pyramid[]

Is this pyramid or temple? I have not seen any reference from neither bedrock of java. Jungle temple just sounds more interesting. 87.49.147.110 09:56, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

It's pyramid as per the structure ID in java. Yes, in bedrock thebID is Temple, but that includes igloos, desert pyramids and swamp huts too, they're not temples either. The loot tables also say temple, but the structure ID takes preference here, as that's about the structure itself. FVbico (talk) 10:00, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

Pyramid? Really Mojang?[]

To whoever at Mojang that chose to call this a pyramid, when the entire community has always called this a temple:

I hate you.

Love, Harikin323 (talk)

Yes it's weird considering most of the community calls them temples. Same thing with desert pyramids. I find temple to be a better name, but I am not mojang so I can't change it. James Haydon (talk) 21:13, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
