So, I need help.[]

I need some help, and the page just isn't doing it for me. I was wondering, without taking into account flight times, how many unique Firework Rockets are there, not including ones that look exactly the same or the blank Firework Star? If someone could tell me this it would be much oblige, and maybe someone could tell me how they got the number of Firework Rockets seen on the page. I think that showing the math would be very helpful. Also, I noticed that the numbers show on the Firework Star page didn't match up to the numbers seen on the Firework Rocket page. I hope this helps. Brickticks (talk) 16:57, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

That would be a nightmare to calculate, I think none of us here have the time to process every combination of the millions of combinations to remove duplicates.
The numbers are simply done by multiplying combinations, of which there are too many factors to list here.
The numbers are different because a firework can be crafted using 1 to 3 gunpowder, and 0 to 7 firework stars (with a limit of nine ingredients total, including the paper) KnightMiner t/c 17:19, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

There are exactly 19990120450134546925753238040259571986820916295504403597177411829216667290445679938450910650975366847498729147381808461242200332347927491, the order of the dyes matter as it creates a small difference in the firework explosion.166.109.0.60 16:06, 2 March 2021 (UTC)

Pre-made[]

What are the five pre-made types in the console edition, and how can you manually craft them on the PC?

BDJP007301, would you be able to look at this, if you still have your WiiU edition? – Sealbudsman talk/contr 07:49, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
Ok. here are the five pre-made types, plus how they can be crafted:
A firework rocket with a duration of 1; it explodes in a small ball in brown and it twinkles
This can be crafted by creating a firework star with gunpowder, cocoa beans, and glowstone, and then crafting a firework rocket with the firework star, a piece of paper and one gunpowder.

A firework rocket with a duration of 2; it explodes in the shape of a creeper in magenta
This can be crafted by creating a firework star with gunpowder, magenta dye, and any type of head, and then crafting a firework rocket with the firework star, a piece of paper, and two gunpowder.

A firework rocket with a duration of 2; it explodes in a burst in orange, fading to red
This can be crafted by creating a firework star with gunpowder, orange dye, and a feather, and then adding red dye to the firework star, and then crafting a firework rocket with the firework star, a piece a paper, and two gunpowder.

A firework rocket with a duration of 3; it explodes in a burst in green, fading to yellow while twinkling.
This can be crafted by creating a firework star with gunpowder, cactus green, a feather, and glowstone dust, and then adding dandelion yellow to the firework star, and then crafting a firework rocket with the firework star, a piece of paper, and three gunpowder.

Lastly, a firework with a duration of 2; in explodes in the shape of a star in blue, fading to red while having a trail
This can be crafted by creating a firework star with gunpowder, lapis lazuli, a gold nugget, and a diamond, and then adding rose red to the firework star, and then crafting a firework rocket with the firework star, a piece of paper, and two gunpowder.

Conflict between Elytra boost entries[]

On this page, it is stated that the duration of the boost given by a rocket is determined by the listed duration. On the Elytra page, it is stated that the ingredients of the rocket do not influence the duration of the boost. This is either poor wording or conflicting information. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 104.51.93.8 (talk) at 23:04, 03 January 2017 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Fixed: It was poorly worded, not conflicting. Thank you for notifying us. Maethoredhel (tcLogs) 23:12, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Firework damage numbers?[]

As of 1.14, fireworks will do damage if shot from a crossbow, more firework stars increase the damage, but how much damage does a single firework star do? for the max 7 stars it is quite a bit of damage, and it appears to have an area of effect as well, a 7 star firework will kill most regular mobs (like zombies) with 2 shots suggesting they do at least 10 damage reliably 77.173.52.127 20:26, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

The explosion of firework rockets deals 2.5 hearts of damage, per firework star.
Directly from the behavior section, as the damage is not specific to crossbow usage, but all usage. FVbico (talk) 20:28, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
Right I did miss that, probably because it didn't have the red heart like most other cases where damage nubmers are listed 77.173.52.127 20:46, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
On that note, does applying shape modifiers with a firework star alter the range of its damaging explosion? DevNode (talk) 07:00, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

Flight Duration of Creative Inventory Firework Rocket[]

What is the flight duration of the creative inventory firework rocket on Java Edition? It doesn't have any NBT data. MattTheBanana (talk) 20:01, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

Incorrect Flight distance[]

I did some testing in creative mode (Java edition), firing out of a dispenser both horizontally and vertically, and using firework rockets crafted with 3 gunpowder (not 3 stars, their flight duration was 3) and they only traveled around 20-25 blocks away from the dispenser in both cases. On the page, it says that firework rockets with a flight duration of 3 travel from 32 to 52 blocks. Was the travel distance lowered at some point and nobody found out, is it different between Java and Bedrock and was tested in Bedrock? The rockets i used had flight duration 3, one star, and the star was made with white dye and glowstone dust for the crackle to keep the particles around longer and help me see the center of where they exploded

"Colors" entity data difficult to understand[]

I've been trying to figure out how to put colors on my summoned fireworks and couldn't understand since it is not as intuitive as Colors:[8198656] or FadeColors:[2645760] . The correct way is Colors:[I;8198656] or FadeColors:[I;2645760]

How are these obtained in Java Survival?[]

By crafting, according to the article. Gunpowder and paper. Craft a firework star if you want an explosion. Amatulic (talk) 14:50, 23 June 2022 (UTC)

Unused sound?[]

I couldn't find the situation that entity.firework_rocket.shoot is used in, and I want to fill in its description. Does anybody know where it's used? CrowdingFaun624 (talk) 21:17, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

I only took a quick look, but it seems like it is called when a firework is dispensed from a dispenser? I've not tried it though to verify. - AD OffKilter (talk) 21:28, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
I figured it out; the source was wrong and I had that source muted. - CrowdingFaun624 (talk) 23:04, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
