Future Crafting

There is a future crafting section containing books and book and quill, does this not need to have Ender Chest in it too? Crazy_Hazy 15:02, 27 May 2012 (BST)

New Sandstone Blocks for 1.2.4

New sandstone blocks should be added to the list.

"Smooth" Sandstone is created by placing regular sandstone in the crafting grid in the same way sand is to make sand stone.

The "Hiroglyph" Block is made by placing two regualr sand stone slabs on top of on another in the crafting grid.

feel free to discuss this. :)

(p.s. I accidentally started a topic about this issue by mistake. It can be removed and I apologize. (I read the rules)

Secret recipe?

Notch mentioned something about one recipe no one knows about. Did he at least say what it makes? alexkill51 - 10 March 2012

He didn't say it's a recipe. He said that "While all the recipes are known, there's still a secret that nobody discovered yet". Then in an article on some web page they mentioned him saying that there's "lots of recipes, but there's still something that nobody's yet found". Then, on another web page, they said that he said that "there's still a recipe that nobody's found". Ahh, the wonders of misquoting people. 79.139.99.90 16:14, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

But it has already been found. --Lolmaster 16:16, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Note about shapeless recipes

If a future recipe is shapeless and requires three or four ingredients please do not make a crafting recipe like this (fake recipe for example)

Template:Grid/Crafting Table

Instead arrange the ingredients it so that they fit inside a 2x2 grid: Template:Grid/Crafting Table

This shows that it can be made on the 2x2 inventory crafting table, and the 'shapeless' icon gives a helpful extra indication of this. To mark a recipe as shapeless, insert a line that says

|shapeless=1

into the template code. Before the page was changed to follow this approach some people were mystified as to how mushroom soup could be made without a crafting table.

New Sandstone

New sandstone blocks should be added to the list.

"Smooth" Sandstone is created by placing regular sandstone in the crafting grid in the same way sand is to make sand stone.

Wood and wool colours

I recently added wood and wool colours to the crafting grid, but it was undone, for the reason that a note would suffice and that it was visually annoying. I do not see it as annoying, and still feel that it is better with the alternating colours, can we get a third opinion? If the revert stays in effect, someone needs to go change it everywhere else for consistency (the pages for wool and planks, any item or block made of them, as well as any page for a material used in conjunction with wood or wool). Also this note should be added (both here and probably in the aforementioned spots.) Cultist O 19:36, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

I think the alternating colors could be used to indicate what kinds of wood yield which planks, but otherwise the note indicating any color wood/wool works in the recipe should suffice. Cobalt32 19:50, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Should suffice or would be better? Cultist O 21:03, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
I have opened a topic here to try to come to an agreement as it relates to all pages. Cultist O 22:10, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Stone Brick Slab

Hey I noticed that there isn't a recipie for a stone brick slab there so it's three stone bricks in a horizontel line :D

It's in the wiki codes, but apparently it skips the stone brick and other slabs, same with stairs. I just don't know why either. Funky3000 21:47, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
It looks like {{Grid/Crafting Square Slide}} (which is used by {{Grid/Crafting Table}}) is limited to 6 frames; everything after that is ignored. You could try asking one of the admins to change it; I don't understand the code enough to fiddle with it myself. -- Orthotope 02:03, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
We're going to need to change that in 1.3, the new slabs for wood unless we just separate stone slabs and wood slabs seeing as they have different properties. Funky3000 23:09, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

Redstone Repeater

I'm pretty sure this should read "and" instead of "and/or":

"Used in redstone circuits as repeater, a delayer, and/or a diode."

You cannot disable any of those features.

It will always delay. (Even set at "0" it still adds a delay)
It will always repeat.
It will always act as a diode.

There's no "or" about it. 70.191.118.37 02:40, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

new block

hi i need help ive built a minecart track but i want to make it so my cart stops and turns on to a new track so i though of a new block that can turn all the way around in outer words a block that is connected by a button or lever and you hit the button and the block turns and faces the other way. so please think of making it thank you

Splitting this into smaller pieces

This page has been experiencing a lot of errors. I believe part of the problem is that this page is just too large. I suggest that the recipe lists be split off to subpages and then transcluded, so that any edits to them happen on the smaller pages. This might stop the corruption errors we are seeing. -- Wynthyst User Wynthyst sig icon talk 01:01, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

I wasn't seeing any errors, but the transclusion has made this page a bit useless as a general reference. I can no longer just have the page open and do a search. I need to spend ages opening each trancluded page or trying to decipher what category something has been put in. Is there any way to put in a "load all" option? Seanos 02:47, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
How about for each section, putting the icons for those items next to the header, so they shows even when collapsed? That way we can quickly see what items are in what section... --Mental Mouse 01:01, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Mistake in Armor Crafting Section

In the armor crafting section, it says "Fire is only obtainable via inventory hacking". That's not true. It should say "Fire is only obtainable via mods or server commands".

crafting item separation

how do you separate stacks of items? lets say you have a stack of 64 wood and you need to make a crafting table, how do you separate the blocks?69.29.47.99 20:42, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

Once you've picked up a stack of items in your inventory, right-clicking with it will set down just one at a time. See controls for more information and other ways to manipulate stacks of blocks. -- Orthotope 06:23, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Someone Messed up the Crafting Page!

Hello! As a random passerby I tried to fix the wiki page, however I couldn't manage to fix it.

If you go onto the crafting page (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Crafting) and you expand the "Enchantment and brewing recipes" you will find that someone has very annoyingly added 2, glistering shit and diamond with the description "Used to craft Glistering Shit with Vaginias, a Golden Shit with a red peice of poop, or a Golden Shitty Carror with a Dick."

Yes, so if you lot could figure out how to remove that... Cheers! 108.58.107.226 13:34, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Recent edit by me

How embarrassing. I hit the enter key when I went for the apostrophe. I meant my summary to say "we don't document the community, and that's speculation anyways." This is in response to the addition of the comment of some youtuber finding something on the Xbox version and speculating what it means. Kanegasi C 16:41, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

Stained Clay

With the update to 1.6, Stained Clay has been added along with it's crafting recipe. I noticed it hasn't been added to the Crafting page yet, as well as that there isn't really a category for it to belong to. I'd suggest that the section for Wool recipes be adapted to include what is basically their inflammable and more blast-resistant counterpart. Maybe to "Dyed block recipes."

Yoshimo 00:25, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Standed Glass Added

I have added in the Stand glass recipes, as needed pulled from anouther wiki page that was all ready done

Dyed Blocks

Shouldn't all the dyed blocks (wool, stained glass, and stained clay) be in one section instead of scattered. And the wool could use being in just one changing table. KnightMiner (talk) 20:32, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Believe you are correct. This layout is probably rather old and not appropriate for today's Minecraft. --Saanoth (talk) 20:34, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
Added a new Dyed Blocks section, removed stained glass section and wool section, and moved carpet from miscellaneous to dyed blocks. KnightMiner (talk) 22:31, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

I wanted too know if you could add the nether reactor as things you could build yourself without a crafting table --Its really me (talk) 23:05, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

Xbox 360 Version

Help.

How do I make Carpet in the Xbox version? Every page I find tells me to put "wool" in the bottom two "cells" in a crafting box. But, the Xbox crafting table will not let me put items in the boxes. It only lets me select items from a list. Is there a way that I can override this and actually be able to place items in the boxes?

Please help. Thanks.

--Desariella (talk) 17:47, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Currently, the Xbox edition is roughly equivalent to PC edition version 1.2; carpets were added in version 1.6, so they aren't yet in the Xbox edition. -- Orthotopetalk 17:57, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

There should be a list of removed crafting recipes.

Self explanatory. I remember in 1.6 snapshots that there were recipes for horse armor and saddles. It think it might be interesting to have those on the list too.

Cleanup?

I've been browsing through this page and have noticed that there are some things that the wiki style guide objects. I just wanted to put this out there so that others besides me will be able to help clean it up.

Crafting category revamp?

So, as mentioned in Template talk:Crafting usage#Category parameter, categories need to be decided for the crafting page. Matt made a new module to load recipes for the crafting sub pages, such as Crafting/Basic. Before that is implemented, categories need to be discussed.

Current ideas are using the current categories (if not slightly revamped) and using the Creative mode inventory categories (see Inventory#Creative mode).

Main purpose of this topic is so the categories are not just decided behind the scenes. --KnightMiner (talk|contribs) 23:16, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

I like the idea of using the Creative mode categories. The distinction between some of the current categories (particularly basic/manufactured/miscellaneous) seems rather arbitrary. -- Orthotopetalk 23:46, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

Pumpkin Pie missing from Foodstuffs recipe list

I opened up the Complete List page to look up the recipe for Pumpkin Pie, and I discovered that it is not included in the list of recipes under Foodstuffs -- and the Help pages don't explain how to fix that. Is this something that is straightforward to do?
