Tools

IndustrialCraft introduces a new line of tools and weapons through use of the new metal Bronze. It also introduces a few technologically advanced tools to aid in fast machine deconstruction and speed up the mining and wood-cutting processes. All bronze tools last longer than their iron counterparts, with 351 uses.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Bronze Ingots
Produces: 1× Wrench Template:Grid/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:

The Wrench is not used in any recipes.

  • Notes:
-Only certain machines and energy devices can be picked up by using the wrench.
-Wrenching something with items in it causes those items to be lost (tested v4.20)
-Wrenching a machine sometimes produces only a Machine. (?verify frequency)

Chainsaw

Template:Mod/Item The Chainsaw is faster at cutting through wood and leaves than the best of axes and never breaks. It does require energy to run, however.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Refined Iron, 1× Electronic Circuit, 1× RE Battery
Produces: 1× Chainsaw Template:Grid/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:

The Chainsaw is not used in any recipes.

  • Notes:
-The RE Battery, (?verify)Single-Use Battery, or the Bat-Pack can be used to charge the Chainsaw.
-The Mobile Charger can be used to recharge the Chainsaw using either the RE Battery or the (?verify)Single-Use Battery.
-(?verify)Cutting through leaves will cost the same amount of energy as cutting through wood
-When energy runs out, it acts like bare hands.
-When hitting a mob, it costs no energy and inflicts ♥♥♥ damage. The uncharged version does only ♥ damage

Mining Drill

Template:Mod/Item The Mining Drill is faster at mining than the best Pickaxes and Shovels, especially when mining IndustrialCraft ores. It never breaks but does require energy to operate.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Refined Iron, 1× Electronic Circuit, 1× RE Battery
Produces: 1× Mining Drill Template:Grid/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:

The Mining Drill is used to craft the Diamond Drill and the Automated Miner.

  • Notes:
-The Mining Drill cannot collect Obsidian
-The Mining Drill makes especially quick work of IndustrialCraft Ores.
-The RE Battery, (?verify)Single-Use Battery, or the Bat-Pack can be used to charge the Mining Drill.
-The Mobile Charger can be used to recharge the Mining Drill using either the RE Battery or the (?verify)Single-Use Battery.
-(?verify)Digging through sand, dirt, and gravel will cost the same amount of energy as cutting through stone and ore.
-When energy runs out, it acts like bare hands.

Diamond Drill

Template:Mod/Item The Diamond Drill is faster at Pickaxe and Shovel work than the Mining Drill. It also never breaks but requires energy to operate.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Diamonds, 1× Mining Drill
Produces: 1× Diamond Drill Template:Grid/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:

The Diamond Drill is not used in any recipes.

  • Notes:
-The Diamond Drill can collect Obsidian
-The Diamond Drill makes especially quick work of IndustrialCraft Ores. The Diamond drill is not Proportionally faster than a Diamond pick for mining IndustrialCraft Ores when the Industrial-Improved-Pick add-on is installed as well.
-The RE Battery, Single-Use Battery, or the Bat-Pack can be used to charge the Diamond Drill.
-The Mobile Charger can be used to recharge the Diamond Drill using either the RE Battery or the Single-Use Battery.
-Digging through sand, dirt, and gravel will cost the same amount of energy as cutting through stone and ore.
-When energy runs out, it acts like bare hands.
-When hitting a mob, it costs no energy and inflicts ♥♥♥ damage. The uncharged version does only ♥ damage

Mining Laser

Template:Mod/Item The Mining Laser is the most powerful, personal mining tool currently available in IndustrialCraft. It shoots a small-white-block looking charge which passes through blocks quickly in a straight line that reaches up to ~14 meters. Any blocks it passes through disappear, but not all of them are dropped as items. It does not break but requires energy to operate.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Refined Iron, 3× Glowstone Dust, 1× (Charged) Energy Crystal, 1× Stick
Produces: 1× Mining Laser Template:Grid/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:

The Mining Laser is not used in any recipes.

  • Notes:
-The Mining Laser does not have a 100% drop rate
-The Mining Laser makes especially quick work of IndustrialCraft Ores.
-The Mining Laser can only be recharged in the Crystal Charger.
-Each shot will cost the same amount of energy
-When energy runs out, it does nothing
-Shooting the Mining Laser at right angles point blank into a solid wall will carve out 9 blocks regardless of material (?verify). However, the Mining Laser cannot break Bricks, Obsidian, Soul Sand, Glowstone or Bedrock (?more). The further away the player is from the wall, the less will be carved out. If the player is 15 blocks away, it will not reach the wall.
