IndustrialCraft Miner

IndustrialCraft introduces a Machine that collects ores and minerals automatically.

Miner

The Miner uses energy and operates in a 5×5 area (with itself in the center) using Mining Pipes, Diamond-tipped Pipes, ITNT Pipes, and Extractor Pipes to extract Ores, Fluids, and other Blocks below it. It replaces these materials with the pipes and drops the materials nearby or in an adjacent Chest. It will actively seek out materials based on which pipes are used. Placing any placeable Block in the upper slot other than pipes will cause the Miner to begin retracting the pipes, dropping them nearby or in an adjacent Chest and placing that Block in the space the pipe occupied. If an unplaceable or unstackable Item is placed in the upper slot, the pipes will retract without replacing the empty spaces.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Refined Iron, 1× ODE Device, 1× Generator, 1× Machine, 1× Mining Drill, 1× Electronic Circuit
Produces: 1× Miner Template:Grid/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:

The Miner is not used in any recipes.

  • Notes:
-Requires 5 EU/s to operate continually
-Takes 500 EUs per operation (1 battery will accomplish 20 operations)
-Places visible pipes
-Removing the Miner before retracting the pipes will leave the pipes in place.
-Replacing the Miner will not allow retraction, once disconnected the pipes can only be recovered by manual mining.
  • Recovery:
- Using a standard pickaxe will cause the miner to turn into a machine block.
- Guaranteed recovery can be made using an Prototype OmniWrench (id 6257) or an electric wrench (id 30140) or wrench (id 30183)
- Wrenches (id 4062, 13436) and quartz wrench (id 4470) have no effect and will NOT perform any recovery.

Mining Pipe

Mining Pipe is the basic pipe used in the Miner and extracts Blocks and Ores it replaces.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Iron Ingots, 1× Refined Iron
Produces: 2× Mining Pipes Template:Grid/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:

The Mining Pipe is used to make Diamond-tipped Pipe, ITNT Pipe, and Extractor Pipe.

  • Notes:
-The player cannot place pipes, but the Miner does (research pipe blocks)

Diamond-tipped Pipe

The Diamond-tipped Pipe effectively doubles the operation speed, and therefore halves the energy cost of the Miner and extracts the Blocks and Ores it replaces.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Mining Pipes, 1× Diamond
Produces: 4× Diamond-tipped Pipe Template:Grid/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:

The Diamond-tipped Pipe is not used in any recipes.

  • Notes:
-The player cannot place pipes, but the Miner does (research pipe blocks)

ITNT Pipe

The ITNT Pipe (?verify) functions the same way as Mining Pipe until it is retracted, then it will explode a space, harvest whatever is there, and pop out as a Mining Pipe.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Mining Pipes, 2× Industrial TNT
Produces: 4× ITNT Pipes Template:Grid/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:

The ITNT Pipe is not used in any recipes.

  • Notes:
-The player cannot place pipes, but the Miner does (research pipe blocks)
-once used, this will change into a Mining Pipe

Extractor Pipe

The Extractor Pipe (?verify) will ignore ores and extract Fluids and place them in empty Buckets located in a Chest adjacent to the Mining Pipe at a ratio of up to 5 Buckets of Fluids per Block.

  • Crafting:

Materials:Mining Pipes, 1× Treetap
Produces: 2× Extractor Pipes Template:Grid/Crafting Table

  • Recipes:

The Extractor Pipe is not used in any recipes.

  • Notes:
-The player cannot place pipes, but the Miner does (research pipe blocks)
-Extracts a random number of Buckets per Fluid Block up to 5
-As of Industrial Craft 7.00, Extractor Pipe no longer creates buckets of Lava, but rather directly feeds Lava to one or more adjacent Geothermal Generator
