On other Minecraft help sites, casinos have been talked about. So here is a section about how to build and maintain them, as well as filling them with games like roulette and slot machines.

Introduction[]

Just like in real life, casinos are a great way of making money. If you run a server, then build one and you can get lots of materials forever. If you are a guest building on a server, consider building one if the server allows it. You get all the rewards then and the server gets a fun service. Even if you don't build one on a city a casino would be a great addition, however bear in mind it will not be operational.

Many servers have money plugins, so if you are the owner then you can use this so money is exchanged for games etc. However for those who don't know plugins, you can charge, say an iron ingot a go, with a chance to win more. All you need is a flowing stream of water that goes through a 1 block gap. Then the customer can drop an item in and it will flow through the gap to the owner, who can activate the machine.

The building[]

Make it out of a refined material like stone bricks. The floor should be made out of wool. It can be one solid colour (red works well) or a checkered arrangement (black and red also looks good).

Consider making a big dollar ($) sign on the roof to tell people that it is a casino. Or if it is a big roof, then make a sign displaying CASINO out of wool (or glowstone if you have it). Obsidian looks good for the walls because it is dark and black, like a casino. Also, a bar area in a casino never hurt anyone.


The games[]

A casino needs games that fool the customers into thinking that they are going to win, before stealing their ingots away. Of course it is possible to win and you never know, customers may walk away with more. Games generally require redstone knowledge, so please include a detailed guide. Add your ideas to the list. Also, games will require a player input, so hire trustworthy players to collect payments and operate machines.

Simple slot machine (dispenser)[]

Description: The customer presses a button, then a dispenser shoots an item to a prize table. The item can be a dirt block to diamonds.

How to make: Connect redstone from the button to the dispenser that is hidden behind a hole. Inside the dispenser should be 7 stacks of dirt and 2 stacks of diamonds.

Slot machine[]

In brief: The customer will pay a certain amount and then push a button. From behind a glass screen, three dispensers will fire an item out. If all three are the same, then the owner will pay out money according to the prize table. The items will be collected to put in the dispensers later.

How to build: At the very back, make an AND gate. Wire one input to a lever only the owner can operate and wire the other output to a button that the people on the customer side can press. Next make the water trade device (see INTRODUCTION) that flows from the customer side to the owner. Now, wire up the output from the AND gate so it fires 3 dispensers, all facing the customer side and 1 block apart. Put a glass screen in front of them. Finally, fill them with items and provide info for the customers. Done!

To operate: Have the lever off. When an item is detected, collect it and turn lever on. Customer can now push button to fire machine. When button has been pushed turn lever off. As long as the lever is off, the customer will not be able to pull the machine.

Automated slot machine[]

To build this slot machine, you simply make 3 dispensers in the back of your casino, and in them put one row of arrows, one row of golden ingots, and one row of nothing. Simulate the arrows firing out of the dispenser and put a wooden pressure plate where the arrow lands, and put fire over netherrack beside it. Now simulate the gold ingots firing. Put wooden pressure plates where they land. Now wire AND gates to connect the slots in the patterns you want and then wire an item button to it. When the player inserts an item, it will set off the dispensers causing the machine to activate. A downside to this machine is that there can only be 2 outcomes for each slot: The arrow, and the golden ingot. Although if you have the snapshot, replace the empty row with minecarts and place a trigger rail under the dispenser. Then simply add more AND gates, and you've made it.


Diamond catcher[]

The diamond catcher is a simple game where a player has to press the button at the right time (The block used has to be able to be pushed by pistons). The pistons should be wired so that the block is pushed to stimulate it going around. Another button activates another piston that pushes it up so that the player can retrieve it.

Ticket machine[]

Get the players to buy a wool color each and put each in the dispenser, fill the gaps with other colors and the wool that comes out wins 90 % of all the money spent and an air high five.

Another ticket machine is to give each player gravel at the slots or other games when they win so they take it to the ticket machine and the gravel falls it stops on a block held by a piston and lets a redstone current go through it. send this pulse to a dispenser that dispenses iron ingots and deactivates the piston so the gravel falls and gets destroyed. you can also make it to where they can pay more for better prizes.
