Picking up wheat[]

I don't understand. When you pick up the wheat from the ground do you have to be holding somthing when you do? Milkman9 16:09, 28 August 2011 (CTD)

No, You can pick up wheat with anything. However it needs to be fully grown before it will drop a wheat item you can use. Alkheemist 23:13, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Cool thanks I just wasn't sure.=D Milkman9 21:33, 2 September 2011
Someone needs to update the page for 1.8. Food no longer heals hearts, it heals the hunger bar. 173.72.72.214 01:07, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
That has been  Done. Also, milkman9, remember to add posts by clicking the add topic above, so that you also get a title for the post.-- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 05:10, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

My hunger bar[]

IT's not decreasing! This happens after i did the infinite-wheat bug, so i posted it here. The difficulty is Easy, anybody knows why? Creeper IV ~ Not Lucas! 15:34, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

You might be on peaceful. Ary31415 09:05, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Eggs[]

It looks like somebody replaced most of the wheat images with eggs.

Efficiency Comparison[]

The comparison chart seems to fail to take into account that it takes 2 wheat to breed a cow or chicken as you have to give 1 wheat to 2 separate mobs in order to get a new mob... unless I am missing something. So wouldn't you get 2 points on the hunger bar via cows per wheat rather than 4?

You're forgetting, that one cow gives you 1–3 pieces of meat. --mgr 16:09, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Efficiency can also be increased for cattle when using a Looting enchanted sword, but all in all it's a real crapshoot. 98.168.179.175 01:04, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Chicken + Cow breeding combination: Better efficiency[]

With the 1.4 update, chickens now need wheat seeds to breed. That means that you could possibly use the dropped seeds from a wheat farm for breeding chicken, and still use the "real" wheat for your cows. A full grown wheat plant drops an average of 1.5 seeds (I think so? average from 0-3, linear distribution), 2 seeds equal one cooked chicken (3 hunger points), so each wheat gives off 2.25 more hunger points, increasing the efficiency to 6.25. (Eggs not even included!) However I don´t really know how to compactly "explain" this (aka putting it in a nutshell) so that it can be mentioned in rhe wiki...Could somebody more experienced do this? --79.223.90.164 10:54, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Rate of Growth[]

Is the growth rate from planting to full grown wheat known? Presumably this is a semi-random range of time. Iconoplasty 04:47, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Ah.. I see this is actually mentioned on the farming page. Didn't realize the wheat details were spread across two different pages. Iconoplasty 04:51, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Efficiency comparison for crafting cake[]

With the 1.8 update, cake slices increased from 6 to 7. Therefore, the average hunger refilled per wheat used should be 14(7 slices)÷3(wheat used)=4.66(🍗 × 2 13) and the average saturation refilled per wheat used should be 2.8(7 slices)÷3(wheat used)=0.93 saturation. Anomie x, would you be able to comment? GoandgooTalk

The match checks out, and it does seem that 1.7.10 only has 6 slices per cake (or more correctly, the seventh slice just disappears). Anomie x (talk) 11:58, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
