Unbreakable?[]

Am I going crazy, or is it not possible to break an armor stand in survival? – Sealbudsman (Aaron) SealbudsmanFace (talk) – 17:03, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Left click twice Yetanotherguy 17:04, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Aha thanks. Is that an entirely new way of breaking something? – Sealbudsman (Aaron) SealbudsmanFace (talk) – 17:37, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Isn't there a command to make Armor Stands Rotate?--EnderCeeper397 (talk) 17:10, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

They have 8 rotations facing the Player who places them (and an interesting habit of occasionally moving-slightly up and down, and that's even-before Bouncing them or placing them on Slime Blocks). As for the "double tap" of using 2 left-Clicks, this is especially useful, if, say, you see one with a Zombie Head, you hit it in self-defense once, only for there to be No effect, and it to in any case move not at all, such that you'd probably have to Want to take-apart the thing, if you're Clicking on it twice fast-enough to dis-assemble itse stuff.
Another cool part of them is that right-Clicking the specific Armor parts allows itemized removal /trading, with specific Armor parts being-exchanged for other of the same-fit of Armor part, sort of a fast way to dress. It seems to me it's nice to be able to just grab directly Armor, rather than relying on right-Clicking a Chest, Clicking /Dragging it out, then going back into Inv., Clicking /Dragging, and re-moving the possibly still -remaining traded-out Armor (that's 1 step [if requiring aiming] instead of 3-5+!). Named Stands[]

I haven't had the chance to test yet, but is it possible to use name tags or an NBT code to give armor stands names? If so, I am totally going to troll my son-in-law by "spawning Herobrine" into our server world. >:-)

EthanCentaurai · 17:54, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

No, I've tested it in creative. Didn't work. Creepergoboom64 (talk) 12:32, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Bouncing Scarecrows[]

Are possible, with these (as long as it's Pumpkins, rather than Jack o' Lanterns). As well as very stiff mannequins (they only have 8 rotations), but I'm wondering how it was Edited to hold something?

Seems to me they don't have any arms. I suppose arms would add flexibility, thus (Avatar-like) realism. Yilante 216.7.78.195 18:08, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

there is a way, type /summon ArmorStand ~ ~ ~ {ShowArms:1} to spawn one with arms, then able to hold items! –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.213.143.145 (talk) at 19:46, 7 August 2014 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Marker tag[]

Between the 1.8 snapshots and 1.8.1, armor stands have a new tag called marker, that in map making, has the same purpose than the whiter skulls, but functions much better, we should add that to the version history wherever it might be. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Kkkllleee (talkcontribs) at 17:49, 18 December 2014 (UTC). Protect the page[]

I think the Armor Stand page should be protected, because the crafting recipe gets continuosly vandalized, mainly by IP users. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 00:18, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Most page tend to get their recipes vandalized though, and it has only happened four times on this page in the last two months, twice of which by the same user. KnightMiner (t·c) 04:13, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Some information on Armor Stands with arms[]

So, I was just wondering, how exactly would one cause an Armor Stand with arms, (created with the /summon command), to be rotated? I checked the wiki page and it didn't seem to give any information on the subject. It seems that Armor Stands with arms can't be put into the same directional configuration as signs and thus only seem to face one direction. If I'm wrong then could someone please tell me how to make an Armor Stand with arms face a different direction than what it currently does when one simply just summons it in? If I'm right, and the Armor Stand with arms can only be placed facing one direction then perhaps that information should be added to the wiki page. I could be wrong however and it might just be something I'm doing wrong, but if I'm right, well, just tell me and I'll add it to the page. Thank you. Brickticks (talk) 16:02, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

OK, I think I might have found something that either proves or disproves my theory that Armor Stands with arms can only face on direction. This information being the Rot: tag. So now a question arises, does the Armor Stand also have a Rot: tag? If it does, then something about that should be added to the page, or, at least, to the Chunk Format page. If I'm wrong again, and the Armor Stand doesn't have this tag, then just tell me and I'll drop the subject. If I'm right though, like I said, just tell me and I'll personally add it to the page. Thank you. Brickticks (talk) 16:24, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
Try reading Chunk format#Other, it gives a full list of available tags. There are plans to include that list on this article as well, but it is complicated, as we do not want to have to update several lists for each new tag. KnightMiner t/c 17:14, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Information[]

Has any staff member of Mojang ever commented on the decision to leave arms out without commands? --140.32.16.3 03:59, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

No, I have not seen any comments, though I assume the reason is they are armor stands and not weapon stands. KnightMiner t/c 14:49, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

Dual Wielding?[]

OK, so this probably sounds like a stupid question, but.... Does anybody know how to make an Armor Stand dual Wield? I can't seem to find any information on this on the page, and thus far summoning an armor stand with arms just leaves the main hand slot open to item placement. I can't, no matter how hard I try, seem to find anything on how to get an armor stand to dual wield. So, does anybody know how to do that? If anybody does, then could they please add it to the page so people will know how to do it. I'm only asking this for the sake of the page, as the 1.9 page clearly states that armor stands can dual wield in 1.9, but there's no information on how to do it on the page. Hope this helps get something done about this, Rockatoa, Brickticks out. Brickticks (talk) 20:59, 5 November 2015 (UTC) Right, probably didn't really need to sign with the four ~'s since I kinda put who wrote this in the message, stupid.

So, I changed the Usage paragraph slightly so that it links to /summon and the NBT tags page, and it says what you can do with them more up-front. For instance you want dual wielding armor stand, so if you look in the NBT tags page you would find a HandItems tag that is set up to hold 2 item tags, like so:
/summon ArmorStand ~ ~ ~ {HandItems:[{id:stone_sword},{id:golden_sword}]}.
What do you think?

Frost Walker[]

Do boots enchanted with Frost Walker still work on armor stands in 1.12.1? --MCweb 03:10, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Yes they do. I just confirmed it.
Gregatron6000 (talk) 06:43, 27 August 2017 (UTC)
Thanks. I can't seem to get it to work though. How did you do it?

Command that make the armor stand indestructible[]

Hello everyone. I'm looking to do a possibility in my server to play hockey using armor stands, but like it is supposed, it breaks quite fast. Is there a way to change that ? Or should I use a pluggin/mod/something else to do it anyway ? Thank you for you help :) –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.55.225.52 (talk). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Not a tutorial page, could set up a repeating commandblock to comsistanty give it health.----Humiebee Discuss anything with me Look at my edits 16:27, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
Better option is give it the Invulnerable:1b NBT, then only creative players can destroy it, and no need to keep running a command. Armor stands also don't use health like other mobs, so I doubt your method even works (didn't check it in game). FVbico (talk) 16:38, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
