Skin packs are available in Console Edition and Pocket Edition as purchasable content. Skin packs add additional skins that players may choose from along with the default skins included with the game's purchase. They often feature characters from other video games, movies, tv shows, alongside original designs.

Cross-platform skin pack is an unofficial name given to skin packs available on both the Console and Pocket Edition; However, skin packs in this category may have differences across platforms.

Biome Settlers Pack 1 Skin pack [edit | edit source]

The Biome Settlers Pack 1 Skin pack is a skin pack themed around the inhabitants of various biomes, including: tundras, forests, and deserts, and was the first skin pack to be available on both the Console and Pocket Edition. It was first added to the Pocket Edition, and then later to the Console Edition.

On Pocket Edition[edit | edit source]

The Biome Settlers Pack 1 Skin pack was released for mobile devices and Windows 10 computers on November 9, 2015 and has 24 skins to choose from. It is purchasable directly in-game through the Minecraft Marketplace under the main menu of the game and costs US$1.93 (MCoin.png 310). A trial version of the Biome Settlers Pack 1 Skin pack is available which enables the full use of the Tundra Tamer, Forest Griefer and Desert Tamer skins.[1]

On Console Edition[edit | edit source]

The Biome Settlers Pack 1 Skin pack was released for consoles on February 25, 2016 and has 24 skins to choose from. It is purchasable through the One Marketplace/PlayStation Store/Nintendo eShop or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game and costs US$1.99.[2]

Minecraft Story Mode Skin pack [edit | edit source]

The Minecraft Story Mode Skin pack is a skin pack that contains various skins of significant characters from the game Minecraft: Story Mode, and was the second skin pack to be available on both the Console and Pocket Edition. It was first added to the Pocket Edition, and then later to the Console Edition.[3]

On Pocket Edition[edit | edit source]

The Minecraft Story Mode Skin pack was released for mobile devices and Windows 10 computers on April 5, 2016 and has 27 skins to choose from. It is purchasable directly in-game through the Minecraft Marketplace under the main menu of the game and costs US$3.05 (MCoin.png 490). A trial version of the Minecraft Story Mode Skin pack is available which enables the full use of the first six skins. A trial version of the Minecraft Story Mode Skin pack is available which enables the full use of the first six variations of Jesse skin.[3]

On Console Edition[edit | edit source]

The Minecraft Story Mode Skin pack was released for consoles on April 6, 2016 and has 27 skins to choose from. It is purchasable through the Xbox 360 or One Marketplace/PlayStation Store/Nintendo eShop or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game and costs US$1.99. It was free for a limited time to promote Episode 5 of Minecraft: Story Mode.[3]

Redstone Specialists Skin pack [edit | edit source]

The Redstone Specialists Skin pack is themed around skins that specialize in, work with, or are otherwise involved with redstone, It is was the third skin pack to be available on both the Console and Pocket Edition. It was first added to the Pocket Edition, and then later to the Console Edition.

The Redstone Specialists Skin pack was released for mobile devices and Windows 10 computers on February 12, 2016 and has 15 skins to choose from, and is purchasable directly in-game through the Minecraft Marketplace under the main menu of the game and costs US$1.93 (MCoin.png 310). A trial version of the Redstone Specialists Skin pack is available which enables the full use of the first two skins.[4]

On Console Edition[edit | edit source]

The Redstone Specialists Skin pack was released for consoles on July 26, 2016 and has 15 skins to choose from. It is purchasable through the Xbox 360 or One Marketplace/PlayStation Store/Nintendo eShop or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game and costs US$1.99.[5]

MineCon 2016 Skin pack [edit | edit source]

The MineCon 2016 Skin pack was a limited-time skin pack, released in celebration of MineCon. It is the second MineCon-themed skin pack released to the Console Edition, and the first skin pack to contain capes on the Pocket Edition. Pocket Edition players were given more time to obtain this skin pack, being available to them one day early, and being available for an extra four more days. It was the fourth skin pack to be available on both the Console and Pocket Edition.[6]

On Pocket Edition[edit | edit source]

The MineCon 2016 Skin pack was released for mobile devices and Windows 10 computers on September 22, 2016 for a limited time until October 7, 2016 and has 14 skins to choose from. It was available for free directly in-game through the Minecraft Marketplace under the main menu of the game and costs US$0.00. If you were on android it would cost a small amount of money unless you used the redemption code MINECON2016 to get it for free. There was not a trial version of the skin pack available.[6]

On Console Edition[edit | edit source]

The MineCon 2016 Skin pack was released for consoles on September 23, 2016 for a limited time until October 3, 2016 and has 14 skins to choose from. It was available for free through the Xbox 360 or One Marketplace/PlayStation Store or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game and costs US$0.00.[6]

The Villians Skin pack is a skin pack themed around villians, antagonist-like figures, and the like, and has 17 skins to choose from. It was first added to the Pocket Edition, and then later to the Console Edition.

The Villains Skin pack was released for mobile devices and Windows 10 computers on July 28, 2016 and has 17 skins to choose from, and is purchasable directly in-game through the Minecraft Marketplace under the main menu of the game and costs US$1.93 (MCoin.png 310). The Campfire Tales Skin pack is a celebratory skin pack for Halloween 2016, and has 16 skins to choose from. It was first added to the Pocket Edition, and then later to the Console Edition.

Nine of the skins within the Campfire Tales Skin pack were tweeted about by the Minecraft's twitter account, prior to the release of the skin pack; these tweets contained pictures of the skins alongside their backstories written beside them.

The Power Rangers Skin pack is a skin pack themed from the movie Power Rangers, and has 20 skins to choose from. It was released both for Pocket Edition and Console Edition on March 28, 2017. [11]

Magic: The Gathering Skin pack is a skin pack themed around the trading card game, Magic: The Gathering, and has 15 skins to choose from. It was first added to the Pocket Edition, and then later to the Console Edition.[12]

The Chinese Mythology Mash-up pack was released for mobile devices and Windows 10 computers on April 11, 2017 as part of the 1.0.6 update, and has 26 skins to choose from. The Chinese Mythology Mash-up pack was released for consoles on October 4, 2016 as part of a free update, and has 41 skins to choose from. The Fallout Mash-up pack is a skin pack based on the Fallout game series, developed by Interplay. It was first added to the Console Edition, and then later to the Pocket Edition.

The Fallout Mash-up pack was released for mobile devices and Windows 10 computers on April 20, 2017 as part of the 1.0.7 update, and has 44 skins to choose from, and is purchasable directly in-game through the Minecraft Marketplace under the main menu of the game and costs US$6.18 (MCoin.png 990). A trial version of the Fallout Skin pack is available which enables the full use of the first two skins.[15]

The Fallout Mash-up pack was released for consoles on December 21, 2016, and has 44 skins to choose from. It is purchasable through the Xbox 360 or One Marketplace/PlayStation Store/Nintendo eShop or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game and costs US$5.99.[16]

The Greek Mythology Mash-up pack is a skin pack themed around the Greek Mythology. It was first added to the Console Edition, and then later to the Pocket Edition.

The Greek Mythology Mash-up pack was released for mobile devices and Windows 10 computers on May 18, 2017 as part of the 1.0.9 update, and has 39 skins to choose from, and is purchasable directly in-game through the Minecraft Marketplace under the main menu of the game and costs US$6.18 (MCoin.png 990). A trial version of the Greek Mythology Skin pack is available which enables the full use of the first two skins.[17]

The Greek Mythology Mash-up pack was released for consoles on July 24, 2015 and has 39 skins to choose from. The Skyrim Mash-up pack is a skin pack based on the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim game series, developed by Bethesda Game Studios. It was first added to the Console Edition, and then later to the Pocket Edition.

The Skyrim Mash-up pack was released for mobile devices and Windows 10 computers on June 2, 2017 as part of the 1.1 update, and has 40 skins to choose from, and is purchasable directly in-game through the Minecraft Marketplace under the main menu of the game and costs US$6.18 (MCoin.png 990). Skin Pack 1 was released on July 16, 2012. It contains 45 different skins to choose from. It is purchasable through the Xbox 360 or One MarketPlace, or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section and costs US$1.99. A trial version of Skin Pack 1 is available as a free download, which enables the full use of the original design skins, but not the skins based on copyrighted game characters which include those based on Minecraft's own characters.

Birthday skin packs[edit | edit source]

Minecraft Birthday Skin packs is exclusive to Console Edition, new skin pack is released every year within the (roughly around) 9th of May, the release date of Xbox 360 Edition.

Minecraft 1st Birthday Skin pack [edit | edit source]

The Minecraft 1st Birthday Skin pack was available for a limited time, from May 9 until May 31, 2013. It contained 23 different skins to choose from. All the skins were original designs. It was available, for free, through the Xbox 360 Marketplace or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game. Note Herobrine underneath the "M" in "Minecraft".

The Minecraft 2nd Birthday Skin pack was available for a limited time, from May 9 until May 18, 2014. It contained 25 different skins to choose from. It was available, for free, through the Xbox 360 Marketplace or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game.

The Minecraft 3rd Birthday Skin pack was available for a limited time, from May 7 until May 17, 2015. It has 15 different skins of the Mojang developer, and 3 additional skins with a total of 18 skins. It was available, for free, through the Xbox 360 Marketplace or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game.[25]

Minecraft 4th Birthday Skin pack [edit | edit source]

The Minecraft 4th Birthday Skin pack was available for a limited time, from May 9 until May 16, 2016. It contained 20 different skins to choose from. It was available, for free, through the Xbox 360 Marketplace or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game.[26]

The Minecraft 5th Birthday Skin pack was available for a limited time, from May 9 until present, 2017. It has 25 different skins of the 4J Studios development team, and 3 iron golem skins with a total of 28 skins. It was available, for free, together with the previous birthday skin packs through the Xbox 360 Marketplace or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game.[27]

The Summer of Arcade Free Promotional Skin pack was available through July 18 and August 22, 2012. It was available through the Xbox home page, and was free. It contained 15 different skins to choose from, all from popular games in the "Summer of Arcade" XBLA event.

Halloween Skin pack [edit | edit source]

The Halloween Skin pack was downloadable from October 26, 2012 to November 26, 2012. It contained 55 different skins to choose from. 7 skins included capes. It was purchasable through the Xbox 360 or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game and costs US$1.99. All proceeds went to charity.

Festive Skin pack [edit | edit source]

The Festive Skin pack was released on December 19, 2012 for Xbox and December 17, 2013 for PS3. It contains 24 different skins to choose from. 13 of the skins added extra pixels not available in the PC Version (ex. Santa's Hat). It is purchasable through the Xbox 360 or One Marketplace/PlayStation Store/Nintendo eShop or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game and costs US$0.99. A trial version of The Festive Skin pack is available as a free download, which enables the full use of seven of the designs.[28]

The Battle & Beasts Skin pack was released on May 8, 2013. It contains 45 different skins to choose from. It is purchasable through the Xbox 360 or One Marketplace, or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game and costs US$1.99. A trial version of The Battle & Beasts Skin pack is available as a free download, which enables the full use of some of the designs. It comes pre-installed on the Wii U and Nintendo Switch editions. Each battle skin has a male and female variation.

Battle & Beasts 2 Skin pack [edit | edit source]

The Battle & Beasts 2 Skin pack was released on October 9, 2013. It contains 45 different skins to choose from. It is purchasable through the Xbox 360 or One Marketplace/PlayStation Store or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game and costs US$1.99. It comes pre-installed on the Wii U and Nintendo Switch editions. The Baby Ghast skin is the first skin in Minecraft history to be only a head, without a body or lower torso.

The Marvel Avengers Skin pack was released on December 23, 2013 available until December 21, 2015. It contained 35 different skins to choose from. A second Doctor Who Skin pack was released for the Xbox One edition on December 18, 2014. It has over 50 skins to choose from. The Star Wars Rebels Skin pack was released on February 10, 2015 and contains over 20 skins to choose from. It is purchasable through the Xbox 360 or One Marketplace/PlayStation Store/Nintendo eShop or directly in-game through the Downloadable Content section of the game and costs US$2.99.[32]

The Halloween Mash-up pack was released on October 23, 2015 and has 45 skins to choose from. The Super Mario Mash-up pack was released on May 17, 2016 as part of a free update. It was released exclusively on the Wii U and Nintendo Switch, and was currently bundled with the Wii U retail version of the game. This mash-up adds in 40 new skins themed around the Super Mario franchise.[43]

The Holiday Skin Pack 2015 is a Christmas-themed skin pack in celebration of Christmas in 2015, and has 15 skins to choose from. A trial version of the Holiday Skin Pack 2015 is available which enables the full use of the first two skins. This Skin Pack is the first Pocket Edition pack to have extra pixels on the skin model.[46]

The Biome Settlers Pack 2 Skin pack is a sequel to the Biome Settlers Pack 1 Skin pack, and is themed around the inhabitants of Mooshroom and Nether biomes, and has 24 skins to choose from. It is purchasable directly in-game through the Minecraft Marketplace under the main menu of the game and costs US$1.93 (MCoin.png 310). A trial version of the Biome Settlers Pack 2 Skin pack is available which enables the full use of the Mooshroom Tamer and Nether Tamer skins.[48]
