The mine shaft is a complex 3D rune, used for quickly and efficiently digging a mine shaft.
Effect: Digs a 3x3 hole straight down leaving a spiral staircase.
Depth for Tier 1-7: 16, 16, 16, 28, 75, 160, 
Only the cobblestone on the bottom level is a tier block. ...and yes, this rune resembles a large bullseye with an arrow pointing down.

I suppose that sounds and smells just about right.
Effect: Blocks will replace the position of any tier 0/1 block they are placed on. To determine the block to embed, right click the center tier with the desired block type.
Uses for Tiers 1- 7 : 40, 41, 46, 136, 526, 1192, 11625
The wall master rune allows you to create walls without the effort of building them yourself. Once activated the rune will reshape into a U-shape made of redstone, with the opening of the U-shape created in the direction of the outer redstone torch. Blocks placed thereafter in the center of the U-shape will automatically be "built" in the direction of the opening. The height of the wall thus created will be 1 + 2 per Tier of block used in creation.
The rune will stop building the wall when the height of the ground is too differential from the height of the rune. To manually stop the wall, create a 2 block high pillar in its path.
Effect: Creates a 1 + 2*Tier (of tier block) height wall of X length and Y material.
(2.1.3+) How to create a Bridge Master Rune: It is shaped as a 5x5x1 rune.
Materials: 2 tiered blocks (of the same kind), 2 Redstone torches and 14 Redstone wire
Uses: After activation the rune will change in to a U shape(The U will face the outer red stone torch), place blocks in the back of the U shaped red stone. The blocks will be moved to build a bridge at the open end of the rune.
Notes: This Rune can be rotated to change direction of the bridge. In this example, the bridge goes out to the West, which is determined by the Redstone torch on the outer rim that is placed on the West side of the center Redstone torch (Like wall master).
This rune creates a shelter out of the ground under the rune. The Redstone torch is not consumed when the rune is activated. If standing in the wrong place when activating the rune, you may get stuck inside the blocks and start to suffocate momentarily. It is advised to activate the rune from on top of the center block, instead of on the side.
Notes: When activated, the rune is consumed and all blocks within a radius of 10 blocks are covered with snow. Water is also frozen to ice.
Effect: Use slime to harvest ice blocks into placeable stationary water blocks.
Uses for Tiers 1 - 7: 2, 3, 5, 50, 245, 578, 5795
Note: When placed, the water blocks are "stationary" and do not flow. However, if a block state is changed next to it the water will become flowing again. SuperLlama has said that unfortunately there is no way to avoid this.
Pro Tip: As of 2.15 Spawners are Tier 6 like diamond, emerald and gold blocks! If you want a lot of uses for this rune build it around a spawner instead of just breaking the spawner for the EXP orbs it drops (make sure there is enough light around you, so the spawner won't be active).

Tool: Magma Cream.
Effect: Use magma cream to harvest netherrack blocks into placeable stationary lava blocks. This stationary lava is stackable up to 64 pieces! Helps saving a lot of inventory space.
Uses for Tiers 1-7: 9, 39, 40, 49, 88, 154, 1198
Note: When placed, the lava blocks are "stationary" and do not flow. However, if a block state is changed next to it the lava will become flowing again. SuperLlama has said that unfortunately there is no way to avoid this.

If you want a lot of uses (154 in this case) for this rune, build it around a spawner instead of just breaking the spawner for the EXP orbs it drops (make sure there is enough light around you, so the spawner won't be active).

Tool: Blaze Powder.
Effect: Drops fire blocks as an item
Note: The rune is used only 1 time, but the tier determines how many fire blocks are dropped by this rune.
The whole rune is consumed, including the blaze powder you need as activation tool.
As of 2.15 the Tier used must be at least Tier 4. Lower Tiers won't drop a fire block anymore (nothing will be consumed in that case at all), and a message is displayed hinting on required higher Tier blocks than you just used.

|Topsy Turvy Rune|
This rune was not announced officially, so it is considered secret.
This rune operates similar to Faith in that its area of effect is a sphere determined by the tier of the signature rune used. The landmass around the rune can be flipped vertically or horizontally depending on the facing of the rune, although the relative configurations are identical.
Uses: Unlimited. (The rune is not consumed)
Effect: Flips all blocks within a certain radius depending on the signature blocks. The central gold block is not included in the following radii listings.
Tier 1: 4 block radius
Tier 2: 6 block radius
Tier 3: 7 block radius
Tier 4: 8 block radius
Tier 5: 10 block radius
Tier 6: 11 block radius
Tier 7: 23 block radius
Note: Not all blocks may be moved via this rune. This includes, but is not limited to: doors and diamond blocks. Attempting to activate the rune will create the error message, "The Aether rejects your greedy request."
It is possible to make a topsy turvy elevator using two of the runes, one directly above the other with enough space in between to hold a person. This technique is only possible with a tier 2 block or higher used in its construction.
It is also possible to swap the tier blocks and the Iron Blocks.
The Solar Flare is The first secret rune. SuperLlama gave this hint for it: "it's very similar to the freezer rune, but more 'evil' looking. In addition, the gold ore isn't ore anymore"
Warning: this rune is dangerous. Do not use it in a town or building.
How to create a Solar Flare Rune: It is shaped as a 5x5x1 rune.
When activated, the Solar Flare will destroy material in a radius of 10 blocks around it (not counting the center block). Variable amounts of fire, gunpowder, and coal will be created, and the rune will destroy blocks up to 3 layers deep.
Notes from the Developers:When casting this rune under water it will make a rather large hole in the ocean till 7 layers above where the rune was active.
Uses: Single use, unless used very far below sea level.
Faith was the second hidden rune in Runecraft, added via donation submission from bp2008.
Materials: 5 Gold Block, 4 Tier blocks for radius, and 1 Tier block for uplift (which CAN be Tier 0/Air).
Uses: Single use.
Effect: Creates a floating island in the sky, whose radius depends on the tier of block used on the bottom layer.
Diameter = 2 x Radius + 1

NOTE: The center block is the signature block on the top row of the diagram. For example, using tier 1, the island will be 4 blocks out in all six ordinal directions from the center block - N/S/E/W, up/down. When creating this rune, building the bottom layer on top ground level will result in the middle of the island being at eye level.
- This area cannot rise any further. - The rune is too close to the sky limit to move up.
- Your faith is not strong enough to break the ceiling. - There are blocks directly above the rune.
- Your faith is not strong enough to pass the obstacles. - there are blocks above the center height of the rune, but not directly above it, that it cannot move.
- The aether has rejected your greedy request... The area to be moved contains another block which cannot currently be moved by the faith rune.
- Your faith has moved a mountain! - success!
This rune will grab bedrock, incorrect use can leave bedrock up in the air, and a hole in your map.
The Reality Anchor allows you to define a customizable volume of blocks, for later building with the associated Reality Master rune. Once activated, the rune will reshape, moving the central five emeralds to positions around the rune (NSEW and above). These "Anchor" blocks can be moved in a straight line, towards or away from the rune, by right-clicking them with a tool. They cannot move through solid objects, nor beyond a set distance from the rune center that varies according to the tier. Tier 1: 15

Effect: Creates a reference volume to be used with Reality Master. Volume is dependent on tier used, and roughly corresponds to a box containing that tier faith ship. However, this volume DOES NOT need to be a cube.

The Reality Master allows you to construct complex structures, as defined by the Reality Anchor, using blocks from your inventory and rune-associated containers.
Materials: 16 Redstone wire, 4 Redstone Torches, 20 Iron Blocks, 4 Emerald Blocks, up to 4 signature blocks. There are also four optional spaces for containers, an optional space for container OR piston, and an optional space for a filter block.
Effect: Creates a copy of the area defined by the Reality Anchor with the same signature. The following steps are then taken:
The Reality Anchor with the matching signature is found, and the designated volume is loaded into the Reality Master. Altering the Reality Anchor after this time will not change the outcome.
The Reality Master decides where to place this volume in relation to itself. The default decision is to build above itself in the same relative position as the Reality Anchor. This can be altered with pistons placed in the middle key block (explained below).
The Reality Master begins to alter the blocks in the new area, to match those in the old (Anchor-defined) area, starting at the NW bottom layer and moving W->E, N->S, bottom->top in that order. If the rune comes to a block in the Master volume that does not match the Anchor volume, it will replace it with the proper block - except in special cases. If the block to be replaced is Tier 4 or higher, or Bedrock, OR there is none of the Anchor volume's block to place OR the Anchor volume block matches the filter OR the Master volume block matches the filter THEN the block will not be altered.
The Reality Master will use multiple inventories in order to destroy and place the appropriate blocks in its designated volume. It will preferentially use the containers in the rune (W>E>S>N), and then the inventory of the player who activated it, and then will simply drop the block entities where it was activated.
