Crashing/System[edit | edit source]

[!] [SMP] Minecraft crashed, and would crash everytime I tried to connect to my server, until I restarted the server. The server did not crash however.

[!] [LMP] On rare cases while playing LAN, minecraft can crash with the following error:

  • Huh, another null pointer exception. Try having other people with possibly stronger computers try this and see if they crash, i for one have not. Trigger hurt 14:09, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
    • Null Pointer Exceptions have nothing to do with computing power, it could be Nasa's Apollo 11 computer or Nasa's biggest supercomputer today, it would crash either way. It is to do with trying to perform an action on an object which has not yet been initialised.
      • Java 5!!! You must upgrade your Java version to Java 7.-- 21:31, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

[!] Occasionally, Minecraft will just close spontaneously leaving no crash report. It's happened to me 3 times now, twice while standing still and once after killing an Enderman.

[!] Constant crashing with movement, standing/jumping/looking around doesn't trigger the event.

  • Try upgrading to Java 7 -- 12:22, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Upgraded to Java 7, now Minecraft won't open at all: "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine."
  • To use Java 7 you need to update lwjgl. User42 (talk) 00:36, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

[!!] Extremely high CPU usage in this snapshot only. An average of 50% CPU was being used by Java when Minecraft was open, minimized and paused. Quad-core i3-2100 processor.

  • Changed to Critical bug because this has made my PC has crashed 3 times

[!!] Pressing F2 to take a screenshot makes Minecraft crash for me IMeta95 12:52, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Are you playing offline? I had the same issue some versions ago when I tried to take a screenshot in offline mode. --☺ Sven ? ! 20:06, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
  • No, I played in Singleplayer in online mode. --IMeta95 23:10, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

[!] Windows When I start a mc server (exe or jar) on my computer and connect with the client on my computer offline (no internet connection), the connection with localhost or is very bad (only one bar). If I'm in the internet and connect to the server on my computer over localhost, the connection is good (all bars). This is since the lan connection is in the game. I don't know if this is the right section, but I thought it was a system thing. I also think this is an error, because the connection between the server and client on a computer should be 100%.

P.S. CPU i7 2GHz, 8GB Ram, Win7 64, Oracle Java 7u6 64. ~reptile311

[!!] Running the 12w37a, 12w38a, and the 12w38b server (either the exe and the jar) on a Windows 7 computer crashes. Sometimes it generates a crash report, and some times it doesn't. Downgrading to 12w36a does not crash. Using same map from 12w36a and using a new random map makes no difference. Running Windows 7 Home Premium, AMD Athlon II X4 650 processor (3.20 GHz) and 8 GB Memory. Sample crash report from server.log (crash report not generated)

Crash report from one actually generated:

--MuttJunior 18:21, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

  • 12w38b server crashed again, with a crash report

--MuttJunior 16:55, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

  • It looks like you didn't give your server enough memory to run on. MineMaster2187 17:08, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
    • Only 6 of the 15 slots were being used at the last crash I reported. How much memory would be needed for that? 2GB should be more than enough, even if all 15 slots were filled. This is why I reported it as a bug. --MuttJunior 13:00, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
  • I am also getting memory problems since 37a causing GC crashes. Memory usage jumped sharply and the server is constantly at 100% usage until it crashes. Utilisation was about 70% in 36a and earlier running the same map with the same regular players. Discordance 14:18, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

{bl|!} If you place 4 paper on every slot of the crafting table besides the center, place a map in the middle, take out fast the map in the output, place that map again in the middle, take out the map in the output again will result in a crash (sometimes), this is the report:

[!] Windows 7 64bit Oracle Java 7u6 64bit i7 8GB When I stop a 12w38b vanilla server, the following exception is thrown:

The server has saved all files correct and has stopped after the exception. This will only be shown in the command window, not in the server.log nor when you double click the minecraft_server.jar. ~reptile311

[A!] Lag spikes are more deadly than previous snapshots. Usually when I get a lag spike, it drops my fps down to 10 or so, but in this snapshot it crawls to a 2 and it gets really annoying.

  • Me too, only more so. I rarely if ever encountered lag symptoms before about 2 weeklies ago. Then they started, and in the latest weekly I get a complete freeze of the game, sometimes for 2-3 seconds at a time. These occur every few minutes for 2-5 times on the trot, then things clear for an hour or so. My current game world savegame is 900MB. That's not particularly big, is it? -- 17:14, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

[!] Hostile mobs completely don't spawn at all. I could still spawn them with a spawn egg. My server's spawn-monsters is true. -- 08:49, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

  • I found out that hostile mobs do spawn, but super rarely.

[!] mobs pass through ground (tested in a 2 high room) and die, only tested on peacefull and tameable mobs. this doesn not happen outside, pass through the ground when moving only. behavior ocasionally happens outside but doesnt kill the mob. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by (Talk|Contribs) 02:16, 23 September 2012 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

  • I've had this happen too and it's REALLY annoying. Because of this I wasn't able to keep animals, until I found out that if you put half blocks down, they don't suffocate. Before I found this out, about 20 of my pigs died in the floor. This also happens when you ride pigs. MineMaster2187 17:14, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

[!] Sometimes the respawn button can be pressed, but will simply pop back out again and not respawn the player. Pushing it multiple times may fix it, but if not you have to restart Minecraft.

[X] Crafting an existing map with more paper in order to zoom it out works very rarely for me. I've tried restarting multiple times, but it seems to take 3 or 4 tries to get it to zoom out. Most of the time it simply stays the same as it was before crafting. I think this may have something to do with the fact that I placed the map in an item frame, but I'm not sure. The original map was created after I installed the snapshot. -- 19:48, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] When a mob or the player is on a minecart and enter a nether/end portal they pass through it. Plus, minecarts do not travel through nether portals. --X 21:33, 23 september 2012 (UTC)

[X] Tnt doesn't prime if a powered block is placed beside it. It will prime however if redstone dust is placed or removed near it (powered or unpowered). Best way to test this is to place a redstone torch with a repeater pointing to a block (say stone). Now remove the stone, and place TNT beside where the stone would have been. Put back the stone, and you see the TNT doesn't explode (if you remove and replace the TNT, it will explode). If you do this in the opposite order (place stone then TNT), it will explode. Now try placing redstone dust either beside the tnt or on a block beside the tnt. The dust won't power, but will cause the tnt to prime. Another example is to make a vertical column. Place a redstone torch on the ground, then a block above it. Destroy the redstone torch and put a TNT above the block. Now destroy the block, and put your redstone torch back. Now put the block back. In this sequence, the TNT will not prime. Before putting the final block, you can also surround your tnt with a ring of solid blocks (say stone). Put redstone dust on these blocks, and then put the final block under the tnt. The tnt will not explode, but if you break any of the unpowered redstone dust that is on the blocks beside the tnt, the tnt will explode. posted by criticalminer

[X] Pistons still don't have their complete push ability back. Because of this piston elevators don't work anymore. what happens is that the player get's pushed up 5/6 times and after that the piston head pushes through the player which causes them to get stuck inside the pistons--League 18:58, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Actually, they do work, you just need to add an extra tick to the sticky-piston that controls the elevation pistons.--Queegey 21:03, 20 September 2012 (UTC)
  • even then they don't allways work. the only way to make them work is to make them go pretty slow but that kinda ruins the elevator.--League 06:55, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] Mobs and players glitch a little bit through stair blocks, and because of that, zipper elevators don't work properly anymore. They only work when they go very slowly but then it destroys the purpose of an elevator. --League 06:53, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Wrong section. This should be in the issues page (1.3.2), Not a snapshot.
  • if it isn't fixed in this snapshot and it's a bug occuring in this snapshot. please clarify why it shouldn't be here--League 19:46, 22 September 2012 (UTC

[X] When mobs go into the nether, the moment you follow them in and spawn on the other side, you push them back in. --League 16:12, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] When mobs are inside minecarts they will stay in the right place for 3 seconds then they will wildly glitch to a place they were previously and back again. Then after 3 seconds they will go back into the minecart again. This will happen continuously.--League 16:15, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Wrong section. This should be in the issues page (1.3.2), Not a snapshot.
  • fixed in b snapshot--League 19:49, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] Sometimes, if you sprint and jump down a 1 block high drop you will get fall damage, pretty annoying when sprinting in plains biome.

[X] If you open a command block while jumping/falling you will freeze in the air.

  • Isn't it rather that the game is paused? Like when editing a sign. I have not tested it myself, but that's my guess. -- 14:45, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
  • I'd have to say this is intended behaviour. Books and Signs do the same thing in Singleplayer.--Pulse daemon 17:41, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] If you fire an arrow it falls straight down then disappears and appears on the place it should be.

  • Has occasionally happened to me in previous snapshots.--Pulse daemon 17:41, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
  • This is a client side glitch, if someone else were watching it would appear normal to them. However it is weird. Trigger hurt 20:45, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] After a certain distance, firing an arrow to the block the stone button is on, is enough to activate it. I don't know if this is made on purpose. --X 23:49, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Do you mean wooden button? Because if you actually do mean stone button, then this is definitely a bug. Stone buttons aren't meant to be triggered by arrows, only wooden ones.
  • Lol, yes, I mean wooden button. --X 12:56, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] [SSP] Linux Boats float in midair above the water and/or sink below the water after placing a boat in the water, saving the map, opening the map, and then touching the boat. To reproduce: 1) Place boat in water; 2) Save the map; 3) Open up the same map; 4) You will see the boat floating in midair just above the water; 5) Nudge the boat slightly by going adjacent to it and it will drop into the water; 6) After dropping into the water, it will actually start to fill with water and sink slowly; 7) Go next to it and the boat will float to the top once again; 8) After that, it may start to sink again; 9) This occurs when placed in water in an enclosed dock, and sometimes in open water. --Eugeniusz 14:55, 22 September 2012 (CEST)

[X] I don't know if this is a bug. Should it be possible to write with color in the client chat? If yes, it doesn't works. I've read in the wiki, you can color the chat. Perhaps I've missed something. I can't write or copy '§' in the chat. In the server chat it works. ~reptile311

[X] Fire created by lightning isn't put out by rain.

  • 1. Dude, for reasons of simple courtesy: sign, capital letters, and group your bug report with others of the same priority. Just a reminder.
    2. Is that 'genuine' fire? I find the permanent fires that remain after thunderstorms are visible and make fire-noises but don't ignite anything or do damage. They do light up the area, and they disappear completely after you log out and in again.-- 17:19, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

[A!] Lightning is devastating in Multiplayer. A wooden or woollen creation could go down in flames without the player being online. Entire jungles could vanish within days. We want challenge, without widespread griefing from the server. A variable for fire damage in MP would be ideal.

[A!] Breeding is broken, you can give sheeps unlimited wheat and they won't get baby sheeps.

  • Works fine for me. Can you give more info on version, OS, etc.? And if you can reproduce the problem, it should be changed to a bug {x} not a major annoyance. -- 17:00, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

[A] Some gameplay elements are unfairly unbalanced. Beacons are insanely hard to get, and need a huge amount of blocks, which is hardly/not worth it in most instances. trading is completely unfair in some circumstances. Gold is hard to find, and has little use.

  • Just want to say that villager trading is RIDICULOUS. Example: 256 renewable, easy farmable Sugar Cane equals 8 nonrenewable, extremely rare diamond gems in the form of a chestplate. I have not yet used villager trading and will not if this is not adjusted.
  • NPC trading can go either way on that, but I usually find that what I would spend my emeralds on is way easier to acquire the emeralds themselves. For example, a flint and steel or a few cooked chicken for 3 or 4 emeralds. Finding a happy medium would be nice, I agree.
  • I do believe some elements are unbalanced, but gold in the real world is just as useless for tools, it is better fr decoration. Although in minecraft tools can be made from them, at least notch decided to add the aspect of gold tools doing their job the fastest, besides that of the sword and hoe. Otherwise it is purely decorative, unless you have way too much gold. Trigger hurt 11:54, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

[A] When the player is killed next to or in a nether portal, they're items will be sprayed all over the ground, but these are ghost items. You cannot pick them up and re-logging fixes the problem, but the actual items are in the Nether as the entities went into the portal.

[A] Boats are still breaking up after crashing into lilypads at full speed, head on.

Blocks[edit | edit source]

[!!] When placing a minecart on a rail the game crashes.

  • Does not happen to me. Might be your computer's problem or something. --HawkBird 14:14, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
  • I never experienced this problem. But i have seen nullPointerException errors before, i have a feeling this is a crash related to the new sounds. or your computer is not strong enough to support spawning entities in the new version due to memory problems. 13:20, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

[!] When growing carrots and potatoes on farmland without water nearby returns to dirt and uprooting the crops. (doesn't happen with other crops.)

  • I've been reporting this bug since they were first introduced, I'm glad to see somebody else recognizing it. Now I just hope it gets fixed. EDIT: I'm just gonna add this screen grab to show it. 2012-09-22 17.48.41.png Floedekage 21:09, 23 September 2012 (UTC

[X] large chests and signs are broken, large chests don't show the lock and signs don't appear

  • This is purely graphical, try adjusting your graphics settings. 13:20, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] Paintings are still broken: All paintings placed turn out as 1x1 or 1x2; larger ones seem to be not available.

[X] Previously you were able to extinguish a nether portal using a piston or a bucket of water and now you can no longer do that. The only way to turn off a nether portal now is to destroy the frame

[X] Sticky pistons glitch out VERY often. See this for more info MineMaster2187 20:37, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] When placing glowstone and glass the breaking glass sound plays.

[X] Quantum pistons (both extended and retracted at the same time) can be produced as demonstrated here. User42 (talk) 00:49, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] Water will not create source blocks on top of existing source blocks. This results in "holes" in the ocean that cannot be fixed without placing a lily pad to place water under, pillaring up from the bottom of the ocean, or building a bridge. The code to do this exists, but is broken. User42 (talk) 00:49, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] The inside corner of fence collision boxes extends all the way to the corner of the block. Because of this it is impossible for mobs or items to fall through a floor of fences. User42 (talk) 00:53, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] Feel free to remove if intended, but TNT resting on top of powered redstone wire doesn't light. I mean, it's ON TOP of the wire, and every other redstone-involved block works like this.

  • That is because it is one of many redstone blocks that need a direct connection, visually, from the redstone to ignite, Did you also know that if powered wire passes TNT it will not ignite it? it only ignites if directly connected or if it is arranged where the redstone is on top of the tnt but one block away. 13:20, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] Water can't destroy lava levels 3, 2 or 1. It should either turn it into cobble slabs or overwrite it. --User42 (talk) 05:00, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Iv'e never experienced this problem in ANY minecraft version that i have played, starting from minecraft 1.0

Items[edit | edit source]

[X] [SSP] No rare drops are dropping from mobs (ie. iron tools from zombies, bows from skeletons, heads...). This makes it impossible to get potatoes and carrots in survival mode on a map from a previous version and it makes it impossible to make a wither boss. Only tested in ssp. Update: I have tested in creative and the drops do work they are just more rare than expected. 1 carrot, 4 iron ignots, 4 potatoes and 188 rotten flesh from 200 zombies spawned in a 1X2 space with eggs. swords and shovels still do not drop if held when spawned but they do if picked up. Heads still do not drop. Will continue testing and update soon.

  • This has been fixed in 1 or maybe 2 snapshots but always eventually comes back for me. I hate it so much when I find a diamond-clad skeleton that drops none of his armor. And also, heads don't drop at all yet in survival mode (except for Wither Skeletons, if that's what you meant.)

[!] Maps sometimes do not show your position on the map and or other players (only tested with a 1x1 scale map)

[X] Paintings can and will overlap each other when placed.

[X] Compass is broken after returning from Nether. Don't point at Spawn, points always to x:8 z:8

[X] Not sure if this should go here or on Mobs. If you drink an invisible potion, villagers still stare at you. It doesn't change the gameplay, but in Multiplayer, other players may see you there. X 13:41, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

  • I think this is intended considering the invisibility potion doesn't have a counterpart. Think about it: You could just make a large supply of potions and nobody could ever see you, you'd be overpowered.
  • But if you make only a few and get near a villager, other people may see you anyway. --X 21:58, 24 september 2012 (UTC)

[X] [Cr] "Pick Block" will replace enchanted tools, weapons and armor. It does not replace unenchanted tools. User42 (talk) 00:55, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

[A] Cooked Chicken restores only 3 hunger bars, unlike other cooked meat, which restores 4 hunger bars.

  • I'm sure this is to counterbalance the fact that you can very easily mass-produce chickens with eggs. Take a chicken, he lays eggs, with those eggs throw them to make more chickens, you get more eggs and eventually you have an excess of chickens and eggs, kill the chickens and cook them and you get easy infinite chickens. Unlike cows where you need 2 of them, wheat and a day.

World Generator[edit | edit source]

[!!] When generating a new Superflat world in 12w36a/12w37a/12w38a/12w38b on my computer will crash. I didn't used mods or something.

  • When I recieve crashes from this, it's usually because I'm generating something I'm not supposed to, like redstone torches in mid air, or 5 layers of redstone dust. You cannot customize it so that there are blocks that normally need other blocks above, below, or to the side of them, this tends to crash. Pyro1997 17:40, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
  • I didn't generate a custom superflat world. I generated a default superflat world but it crash same... I CAN'T GENERATE SUPERFLAT WORLDS BUT I NEED IT FOR VIDEOS... I have this bug since in 12w37a.

[!] My Superflat world, generated in 1.3.2, became a Default one after I died, resulting in chunk errors. I didn't change the folder's files. --X 23:09, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] Water won't always flow into areas it should flow into, until there's a block update nearby. This is a long-standing bug, not a new one.

  • Personally, I view this as a feature rather than a bug. It lets you do things with water that would be impossible otherwise, like guiding a flow of water along a single-block path without anything to contain it. I prefer the ability to create interesting water-sculptures (and various compact escalator schemes) to perfect realism. Not trying to imply that nobody should be annoyed by this; just saying that there are some of us out there who actually like it. 19:09, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Wrong section. This should be in the issues page (1.3.2), Not a snapshot. --
  • if it isn't fixed in this snapshot and it's a bug occuring in this snapshot. please clarify why it shouldn't be here--League 20:07, 22 September 2012 (UTC) 16:12, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

Shy water and its invisible barrier
    • No, one should always report bugs in the version they were encountered, not elsewhere. Striking through 'wrong section' comments.-- 17:04, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

[!] I went into a Snapshot world in 12w38b and TWO CHUNK ERRORS caused two areas of the map to be come absolutely inaccessible. Tried exiting the map and going back in, but it's STILL got those chunk errors. And by inaccessible, I mean you cant even fall in the chunk error and die. REALLY?!? COME ON! 21:32, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Found reason (I think):LAG. Insane lag, as a matter of fact. Throwing Potions fires then like Shotgun blasts. It's ridiculous. Anyone else experiencing this? If so, help? Please? 22:03, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

[A] The Nether often won't generate if you travel to it from The End using a placed portal block, the only way to leave the End without killing the ender dragon or yourself. You have to quickly log out, then back in to avoid falling into the void. -- 16:04, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

  • In vanilla minecraft you aren't supposed to be able to place nether portals in the end, downgraded.
    • you can do that easily in vanilla if you use "allow cheats = on" and /give username 90 1. you don't need mods or anything for that.
      • then I can give myself the locket chest using cheats and say that it doesn't have a texture, then it's a bug
        • that's annoyance at most, since it just has the wrong texture. it doesn't break the game like not creating a world and killing you does.
          • Downgrading to annoyance. You are not supposed to be able to place Nether Portal (Technical) blocks without the use of a mod, or cheats. In any case, it shouldnt allow you to place portal blocks in the end.-- 16:21, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

[A] Dark entities still remaining in this snapshot, I've this problem from the first 1.8 pre-release. I think it's something connected with black areas, because these bug is born in 1.8.

[A] Strongholds which go through ravines generate all their stuff, but without walls or a floor. You can see by going into the Default seed -623160645725253637 and flying into a pit with Night Vision, which leads to a stronghold. This is very similar to the annoyance that is fixed since 1.2 where abandoned mineshafts did the same thing. TorchicBlaziken 19:11, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Wrong section. This should be in the issues page (1.3.2), Not a snapshot.

Mobs/NPCs/Animals[edit | edit source]

[X] if you give your dog necklace a collor and it starts to rain it will turn white. when the rain stops it remains white. the only way to fix this currently is by making the dog swim 1 time.--League 13:31, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] A small group of zombies always spawn around my deathpoint in caves. It doesn't matter where I'm at they always spawn at least 5. - shadow18715

[X] I saw a squid with only 2 legs, squids with 1 and 0 legs, cows without their legs or head, and ME without a head!!!!

[X] [MP] Bats can be spawned in servers even if the "spawn-animals" setting is turned off. --X 21:54, 24 september 2012 (UTC)

  • Villagers=passive mob, villagers=animals? --MineMaster2187 18:16, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] Spider jockeys are extremely glitched. (We need something between a minor and major bug.)

  • No, not really. This is just an ordinary bug, so I've regraded it to {x}. All bugs should default to {x} unless they satisfy the quite specific criteria for upgrading listed in Classifying_bugs. Good advice is always to start from {x}, then upgrade if those criteria are met, or make a sideways change to an {a} if you can satisfy yourself that it's not a bug. And if it's not a bug, and it doesn't actively annoy you, simply don't report it at all.-- 18:12, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] Bats don't avoid lava and fire--League 16:40, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Does anything?? I think mobs' lack of fear of fire, and lack of appropriate response (or any response!) when on fire is a major weakness in the AI and it really ought to be fixed.-- 17:24, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Bats also don't avoid cacti. -- 10:21, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] 12w38b- The player can’t hurt the witches.--X 13:30, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

  • I just killed 5 of them with a diamond sword. --☺ Sven ? ! 16:56, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
    • Seems that players can't damage witch with their hands when they are affected by weakness potions, maybe because the damage count is 0, so a sword will still work as it does more damages ~Geneosis 17:33, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
      • Makes sense. Also I noticed witches can't be killed by splash potions of harming although they take damage. --☺ Sven ? ! 17:39, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] The AI defaults to considering Cobblestone Walls as normal blocks. As such, when mobs attempt to path beyond them, they may path through them. This is significantly noticeable with Villagers. If a Villager attempts to path to a house or elsewhere when a cobblestone wall blocks this path, they will run into the wall, attempting to jump over it, and not repath around it. This is incredibly troublesome in cases where cobblestone walls attach to sides of houses - a Villager can become trapped against the Cobblestone Wall throughout the night and likely killed by a Zombie, since the AI believes it is still taking a valid path to the door. I've also just noticed Iron Golems having the same problem, not to say this isn't universal. --MegaScience 15:57, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

  • Come on guys, use your heads! The likelihood that the person who took that picture specifically modified that texture file or had it modified/removed by an outside force, especially on purpose, is extremely unlikely, as to be practically impossible. I also have this issue. This is probably the same bug that happened to Iron Golems because of the texture being not a power of two. I checked the texture of the files, and noticed that the Iron Golem texture is 128x128, while the texture that doesn't work, the witch, has a texture size of 64x126, and 126 is NOT a power of two. I looked at the Snooper info, and it says that the OpenGL value "texture non power of two" value was false, which I presume means that the system cannot support it, and so it renders white as a replacement. I added two lines to the image to complete it, and it renders, but the texture is sort of off in some places. --Wormy14 15:49, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

[X] macOS Carrot and potato seedlings are very green. Very, very green. Radioactive green, I'd say. Sounds[edit | edit source]

[!] The sounds in the game are horrendous, they sound almost like static, but not quite; they sound very slightly like the old sounds. This is also obnoxious, for you would have to turn down the (system) sound most of the way to reduce the intensity of the noise, and at that level, the system sounds can barely be heard. At first I had thought my sound had failed, but now I am certain that this is not the case. It wasn't a problem with the system, because the system sounds play fine and, the sounds before 12w38b still play absolutely fine when I copy it back. I am practically 100% certain that this has something to do with the sound engine "update". Last time something like that updated, in my instance, the lighting engine, it broke it. (The lighting styles seemed partially reversed on blocks at night, as in caves were dark and barely lightable, and the surface was permanently lit. And practically no one else had the bug! Maybe 3-4 people overall at most, it seems.) Oh, and I'm on a Mac. --Wormy14 15:09, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
