The GPU is not made for gaming either, don't invest in it! The Core i7 and the DDR3 memory makes a huge difference. My old machine with this SAME video card peaked 35 FPS with constant lag spikes. If you are going to upgrade your computer, focus on getting a good processor and fast memory before upgrading your video card. Why does Minecraft get more frames per second in full-screen? Because full-screen mode temporarily swaps the Windows Aero theme with Windows Basic, and also flushes drawing updates that would normally be sent to the screen (ex: the desktop and your IM client).

Vista Business SL9400 (C2D 1.86) Intel GMA 4500MHD 4GB 1280x800 Beta 1.8.1 12-30 9 multiplayer game being played on HP Elitebook 2530p laptops - unlike another reviewer with this integrated GPU family the game is very playable but in full screen (laptop LCD) best to drop render distance = normal and smooth lighting = off . FPS seems very aligned to "cleanliness" of OS (ie CPU load which makes sense), runs significantly faster on a "new" unit (for the kids as I felt tech specs for netbooks were woeful) rather than my identical spec "business" machine. Also need to be careful as to which graphic driver version to use - the latest and greatest simply crashed after playing game on both machines - completely blank screen! Back working stable with the original 2008 driver so there is possibly a better graphics driver somewhere in the middle. Plenty of small laptops were made with this CPU + GPU combo (low power = good battery life) so they all should be OK (with maybe a bit of tweaking) for Minecraft!
