A Golden Carrot is a valuable food item and brewing ingredient. When eaten, a golden carrot restores 6 hunger points (Hunger.svgHunger.svgHunger.svg), and 14.4 saturation points (the highest saturation of any food currently in the game). A golden carrot is required to brew the Potion of Night Vision, and is thereby vital in creating the coveted Potion of Invisibility (which requires a Night Vision potion as an ingredient.) It is also used to breed horses and donkeys.

[edit] Trivia

  • A stack of golden carrots will equal 512 Gold Nuggets or 6 Blocks, 2 Ingots, and 8 Nuggets.
  • Golden carrots being used for potions of night vision is based on the common misconception that eating carrots can improve one's vision; this is only true if one has vitamin A deficiency.
  • Combined, a golden carrot's food and saturation value is 20.4 - slightly less than that of meat (20.8), and 1.5 times as nourishing.
