Ghast Tears are items dropped by Ghasts when they are killed. They are relatively difficult to obtain due to the fact that Ghasts commonly hover over lava or unreachable areas and that Ghasts only drop 0-1 tears when shot with a bow. However they may drop more than one tear if hit with a looting sword.

Ghast Tears are difficult to get due to the uneven terrain and lava found in the Nether. They are obtained by killing Ghasts. A sword with Looting can be held while the Ghast dies, which will increase the drop rate of the Tears. Ghast Tears can be farmed by creating a large platform with enough open space for Ghasts to spawn, and using a Bow to kill them. Be sure to make the floor out of a material that can withstand fireballs though, like Cobblestone.

As a brewing ingredient[edit]

Ghast Tears are solely used in brewing. They turn an Awkward Potion into a Potion of Regeneration, or a Water Bottle into a Mundane Potion.
